{RSU} Party President edition - Updated

Day 3,100, 22:16 Published in Australia Thailand by Revolutionary Socialist Union

Greetings eAustralia,

Well the votes are almost all counted and soon we will have confirmation of the new Party Presidents for all political parties in eAustralia.

So I thought the RSU will do an article to analyise the voting process of the top 5 political parties. What I plan on doing, is showing this current vote and once the numbers are confirmed, I will compare it to last terms votes (I can not access the numbers for last term in eRep yet due to the current voting).

NOTE: Updated on Day 3,101 @ 02.20 eRep time

PP voting: May 2016

Yesterday saw the political party members come out and vote for their new Party Presidents. Across eAustralia we had a total turn out of 58 (still counting and checking at time of writing) people turn out to vote. From that 55 people were from one of the top 5 parties.

As you can see from the above image (main points highlighted in gold), there is a considerable difference to the amount of members and the turn out inside the party.

The KHMC which has the highest party membership (31 members) also had the highest turn out of voters (17 voters), however it lacked in the overall percentage of members turning out to vote, with only 54.8% of their voters casting their vote.

While on the other hand the RSU which only has 12 members putting it 5th in the rankings of parties, had a voter turn out of 10 members which means 88.3% of members cast their vote.

In regards to the other 3 parties in the top 5, we can see all in all a low voter turn out (in terms of members of the party and the ones who casted their votes).

ADP with a membership of 28 members, casting 9 votes for a total percentage of 32.1%

APP with a membership of 15 members, casting 6 votes for a total percentage of 40%

ARP with a membership of 21 members, casting 13 votes for a total percentage of 61.9%

I would be interested in hearing from those other parties to see if there was campaigning done by the candidates?
or

If the Party President elections was highlight or not. (As we know the PP elections can be seen as the lessor of the three elections in eAustralia.)

Last PP terms results

Once eRep lets me access the last terms results, I will be posting an analysis of the voting. This will help to try and see of there are any major difference's between the two different terms, voter turn out, candidates running.

UPDATED Part: Well now that I can produce last terms figures...

Party Membership taken from this site

The ADP which had the highest party membership during that term (29 members) also had the highest turn out of voters (16 voters), however it lacked in the overall percentage of members turning out to vote, with only 55.2% of their voters casting their vote.

While on the other hand the RSU which only has 11 members putting it 5th in the rankings of parties, had a voter turn out of 9 members which means 81.8% of members cast their vote.

In regards to the other 3 parties in the top 5, we can see all in all a low voter turn out (in terms of members of the party and the ones who casted their votes).

KHMC with a membership of 22 members, casting 15 votes for a total percentage of 68.2%

APP with a membership of 18 members, casting 4 votes for a total percentage of 22.2%

ARP with a membership of 21 members, casting 14 votes for a total percentage of 66.6%

A non-professional statistical analysis

Well by looking at these two months, even someone who tends to drink way too much (like myself), can see some major things:

* ARP tried to contact the devil in April (with a percentage of 66.6😵
* KHMC had a very large increase in membership (9 extra members) they dropped in voter turn out per member.
* While the other parties all had relatively level amount of players. However the 4 major parties have had below par voter turn out (percentage wise) in both months.

But maybe a more professional statistician could see more in the limited data I can see.

A look at candidates v turn out

Some might think the voter turn out could be linked to the candidates being presented. Maybe players see only one candidate, so they do not feel incline to vote. Or maybe the candidates fight hard for the peoples vote. So while thinking about this, I looked into the number of candidates v turn out percentage:

However, by looking at this, it appears there is not much difference between the amount of candidates on offer, compared to the voter percentage.

The only thing that stands out the most from the trend is in the APP where the percentage nearly doubled, even though it was still only one candidate (however that candidate did release a public article) and in the ADP where they had a drop of 23% even though they had the same amount of candidates running (maybe it is linked to their slight decrease in membership as well)

So stay tuned for an updated article due out later today.

And as per normal, if you have any questions, please feel free to ask them.
