Today the Royal Navy launches a new branch within the United Kingdoms military. This branch will be a quick reaction, high damage force attached to the Navy that can be deployed within a few hours to heated battlefields throughout the world fighting for the United Kingdoms interests.
With the United Kingdoms Parachute Regiment raising their strenght requirement to make them a stronger force, the Royal Marines aim to bridge the gap between the two branches whilst adding a new dimension to the careers of many in the Navy.

Think you could qualify as a Royal Marine? Then sign up to the Navy and prove it! The requirements for the Royal Marines are strenght 10 and high activity on IRC. You will work in Marine companies making your own weapons and be shipped off to battles to give the enemy what for before coming home for tea and medals.

This structure therefore implies the marines are inferior to the Paras. This would cause you to get beaten to a blooded pulp if you were to ever say this in earshot of a real Royal Marine.
The extant Paras should be re-named the SBS or SAS to avoid such fisticuffs, IMO.

Nah, Royal Marines is an excuse to feed with better weapons to the mates of the commanders. We need an alternative to the navy, the more power/gold they hold the bigger the temptation.

Avempace, I have stated that the force will start out small and expand, just because you didn't get into the first lot doesn't mean you won't be in the next lot.
