[RO-CN EMBASSY] What exactly does 罗马尼亚 mean and why should I care?

Day 806, 01:02 Published in Romania China by pyroelectricity
Neatza,

I'm pyroelectricity, the Romanian ambassador to eChina. I'd like to take a few seconds to summarize my work as an ambassador and its importance to you, an ordinary (or not) Romanian citizen.

China has long been one of eRepublik's most polarized countries. Starting from its freedom in late February '09, China was under the constant threat of TO until September '09. The first TO group was Indonesian, and left for no apparent reason. The second group was comprised of Indonesians, Iranians, and a few Australians and Irish. The leader of this group was Mimihitam, and the time period when her TO group was in power is sometimes referred to as the Mimihitam Era.

In May 2009, eChina experienced the second largest goon rush in eRepublik history. Their leader, Snayke, formed a goon party that managed to maintain a stranglehold on eChinese politics.
Later in May, several goons attempted to institute radical policies (I won't go into detail; it's not terribly relevant what they were) in eChina. President Snayke and several goons split off from the main group. Snayke would remain the president through August.

Meanwhile, real Chinese players from a large RL Chinese gaming forum called cwebgame began flowing into eChina. In June, a coalition led by Snayke gained control of the congress, giving eChina a local congress for the first time in eRepublik history. Throughout the summer, eChina would continue to struggle to throw off the mantle of the goons.

The breakthrough came twofol😛
The goon party was TO'd in July in a massive effort led by yours truly. They never really recovered from the loss of their original party, and became scattered and disorganized.
Then, in August, another RL Chinese forum called S1 discovered eRepublik. The population of eChina went from 1000 to 3000 over the course of the month. The population increased to about 6000 over the next several months due to booms from HKGolden and Newsmth.

In September, eChina elected an RL Chinese president and fully Chinese congress - no goons - for the first time.

I was appointed the eRomanian ambassador to eChina in October.
Starting right after the Presidential elections, Iran began threatening China with invasion. Working with then MoD of Romania, mihail.cazacu, I organized and passed an MPP between Romania and China that is still active and being renewed on a monthly basis. Indonesia also began reaching out to eChina, and the battle for the loyalty of the middle kingdom begab.

I became integrated into eChinese society. Mimicking the method of the Japanese ambassador (and RL Taiwanese citizen) Reiji Mitsurugi, I found myself a place within eChina's vibrant community.

A curious aspect of eChina is their communication method. They have a forum like most nations, but are strikingly absent from IRC. This has led to the misconception that persists even today that there are no RL Chinese in eChina. This is not the case; eChina's chatrooms are more active than the IRC rooms of most Eden or Phoenix countries combined. They're just not on IRC.
eChina communicates over QQ, the most popular instant messaging program in RL China. It's very similar to Windows Live and AIM and just about every other IM program. An English version is available for download at imqq.com

In recent weeks, eChinese citizens have been migrating over to IRC, especially on the rizon server. Some major channels include:

#echina
#echina-online
#echina-debate (Channel used for political debates; fluency in both Hua (Mandarin) and Yue (Cantonese) is recommended)

Under President Aliao (Oct-Dec), I worked to help facilitate conversation between the leadership of eChina and EDEN countries, specifically Romania and the USA. Through constant outreach to the eChinese community and government, China became an Eden-leaning country. The entire American campaign in Asia would not have been possible without my diplomatic efforts in eChina. When the American commanders were looking to chat with the Chinese president, they had no idea where to look. At various times I acted as a messenger between both Romanian and American commanders and Chinese leaders or managed to get Chinese leaders like Aliao and Saint William on IRC in order to speak directly with our high-level officials.

One of my largest ongoing duties as ambassador is refuting Phoenix propaganda that appears in the Chinese media. This is not difficult. Phoenix propaganda is actually such an epic fail that refuting it is in fact incredibly boring and probably unnecessary. But I still do it, just in case.

My current duties include basic housekeeping (mostly the MPP), and working with new eChinese politicians to ensure that they understand the political, military, and economic situations facing eChina and the world. When necessary, I work with them on tactical plans involving operations in Asia and whatever else might come up. If you're looking for some info about China in Romania, I'm the person to go to, and vice versa.

And. . .?

China has long been one of eRepublik's most polarized countries. Today, there's only one pole. All the country's political divisions have been discarded and subjugated to the common good.

The main economic opportunity in eChina is of course Liaoning. Liaoning could provide a backup high iron region in the event of (Matza forbid) the loss of Asturias and Central Greece. In our current relative peacetime, it also provides a new location in which we can place colonies.

The eChinese market is not a very good place to export to; their domestic markets have low prices from large domestic industries. However, if you wish to open a company eChina is a good place to do so. They have low taxes, and a very diligent population. They almost always keep their wellness up, and when they do not they will do so after a simple PM. The eChinese domestic market is of significant size; if you open a company in eChina the domestic market may be the best place to sell your goods.

eChina has an army comprised of one large unit, the CDNA. Within the CDNA the army is subdivided into several smaller units including the Training division and the HKSDU. Their army is comprised of about 140 members; which is comparable to the VM in size. They are slightly less powerful than the VM in actual damage, with the numbers growing every day.
Plans currently exist to create a mobile unit which means we could start seeing Chinese soldiers on the battlefield as early as next month!

The eChinese community is very welcoming to outsiders and everyone in general. Feel free to give them a visit! Although their media is primarily in Chinese, English articles are just as appreciated and have the same chances of success. More people speak English in RL China than the USA, and that carries over into eRepublik. Almost everyone in eChina is at least proficient in English.
Their forums are located at echina.forums-free.com and their IRC is located on irc.rizon.net #echina.

How do I say Romania in Chinese?
罗马尼亚 (Luómǎníyà for the Sinochallenged, the diacritics are the tonal marks)

😃

中国万岁 (Long live China!)
罗马尼亚万岁 (Long live Romania!)
-热电 (pyroelectricity)
