[Rehab] Day 1 As An MP (Economics)
Sir Jimmy Savile
Hey all,
Thanks for taking your time to read about my first day as an MP (or congressman). I would like to say thanks to the PCP for supporting the WRP (and me) in getting a congress seat.
If you have read the eForums then you might know that we are planning on making an 'Sensitive Congress Forum' for our sensitive souls, I mean our sensitive discussions. But until we have discussed about it and had a vote I guess I will have to post all me finding on my newspaper.
So to begin I started my first day looking into the economic side of eUK and found that the VAT on food is a lot higher then weapons. This confused me cause I thought that we sell more food (Per Unit) then weapons, so to balance it out it would be about 7% tax on weapons and 3% on food (These are estimates)
as Seen Here
So to my understanding I only get to make 2 proposals per term and I don't really want to waste them, I want to know that if I propose to change the tax that the other congress members will vote with me
Advantages:
- A balanced Tax ratio (From Weapons and Food)
- More profit gained from selling food
Disadvantage:
- Less profit from selling weapons
- Prices in weapons may increase by about 0.50gbp tp 1 gbp
Hope you like my article and I hope you agree (If not comment what you think should change)
Comments
The thing is food itself is so cheap that the tax really doesn't change that much.
You can sell thousands and even with 0% tax make very little.
True, I was thinking more for the weapon side though, I was thinking that maybe a more balanced ratio we might make a bit more in tax without affecting the market too much

No tax is best tax
Less seriousness, more cool-story-book-thing...
Great article
The NHS is relied on by many new citizens and run as a charity by a few which rely on the kind donations of members of the eUK public.
The NHS hand out food which is taxed highly compared to weapons.
Where many do receive weapons via their MUs, a fair proportion of the population purchase weapons. Where the Government could profit and distribute the wealth we instead ensure the wealth remains with the richest in society (those who sell Q7 weapons).
This is the society we've built for ourselves. I say those profiting on selling weapons can afford to support the government more via taxes, and although it might be a small reduction in food prices we should attempt to make it more affordable so new citizens relay less on charity.
I for one would encourage your proposals for a more fairer eUK \o/
Yeah, but my problem is will the other congress members agree
There are two types:
Right - who would decline this proposal 'cause it will reduce their profits and sales
Left - who will agree 'cause they believe that eUK needs the extra tax.
So is it worth trying to make this happen. I want to know which MP's are with me and those who disagree. I would also like to know the publics opinion on my possible decision.
@Huey, dont forget to make them Q7 weps takes a lot of wrm witch is not cheap, then you got to pay workers to make the Q7s, so theres not that much proift left at the end, not enoght to make any 1 rich thats for sure.
True enough FragUK however what profit there is left at the end surely more of it can go towards our fellow eUKer o/
what litte proift is left i use to fight with.
I'd say go for it! There's usually not much to propose for anyway, and this has got to be one of the more interesting proposals recently (it's usually just MPPs and occasional NEs).
Food generally gets no one much profit at all, so a tax change in that wouldn't be significant on a small scale. Weapons, on the other hand... well, a tax rise would help the treasury, but I've never got much further than selling Q2s, so I wouldn't know about the profit and whatnot.
