To give you the opportunity to make a well-informed decission on the 25th of May, the Res Belgica party would like to present your its election program, containing some issues we would like to work on in Congress during the next term. You will find that most of the points of our program reflect the social orientation of our party, with special attention to such values as solidarity and democracy.

The first point of our program is the creation of a governemental investment bank and the extension of state companies. After getting their first Treasure Maps, many new players often want to invest a part of the Gold to gain some profit out of it, but usually don't know where to turn and who to trust. A governemental investment bank could use the money entrusted to it by the citizens to start new state companies aiming to make profit, part of which would be redistributed among the investors and the remainder would be used to support young state employees. The investment bank would only accept investments from younger citizens, giving the private investment funds the opportunity to appeal to older and better informed players, who should be able to estimate the possible risks involved with investing in the private sector.
Our governement already owns some state companies, but these make no considerable profits and are mainly used as training centres to provide low skill jobs for new citizens. Creating new companies would give a new boost to our economy and would help adjust inflated prices on the market. This doesn't mean that our free market is in danger, since the main goal of these companies would be making profit, which will have to be attained through fair competition. New state companies could also fill some of the problematic niches on the market.

The second point concerns the improvement of the democratic participation of the general population of eBelgium, by adding the possibility of holding referenda to
our Constitution. A referendum would be a direct ballot, where every citizen will have the opportunity to express his or her opinion (by voting "Yes" or "No&quot😉 on important national decissions. Citizens should also have the right to organize such referenda themselves. The outcome would not be binding, although it might influence Congressional votings, by informing the Congress about the sentiments of the people and by putting pressure on the Congressmembers to not disappoint their voters (which could add an extra dimension to eBelgian politics).

The third and fourth points on our program follow this line of democratization. An important step would be fixing a general structure for our governement. At this point our Country President not only has the privilege to staff his cabinet of Ministers, he is also free to choose the structure of his cabinet (which actually isn't explicitly mentionned in the Constitution). This has as a result that there has been little continuity in consequtive governements, as jurisdictions over certain areas were often assigned to a different Ministry after the Presidential elections. In such cases a lot of time and energy was often spent on reinventing the system instead of refining it. Furthermore, the Country President can decide to have a very limited or a very extended number of Ministers under him. These variables could be fixed to a certain extent, to make the functionning of our governement more efficient.

The power of the Country President could further be curtailed by eliminating his privilege to remove people from the Personae Non Gratae list and going against the decission of the Congress. Giving too much power to one person leaves the country too dependent on his personal choices, which sometimes can be flawed or even arbitrary.

Finally, we would like to present you our official candidates for Congress who will try to realize these points during the next Congressional term. All of these people are active members of our party, they are trustworthy and have proven their dedication, presenting a mix of experience and fresh enthusiasm:
