What makes a legend in eRepublik?

A shiny medal? Nah, not to difficult to buy one these days. Not that it diminishes the significance of one, but it's not the be all, end all of this game.

I've always maintained that it's less to do with personal achievements and more about how you win the approval and support of your peers over months and years; how you contribute to the progress of a particular community; how you stick by your allies, your friends, your brothers in arms through thick and thin.

This is a virtual world, of course. We don't literally bleed for our country. The great sacrifice that is asked off each one of us though is time. Countless, sometimes thankless hours spent, plotting, planning and putting into motion events that will ensure the progress & security of the community.

Over the nearly 7 years that I have played this game on and off, I've had the honour and privilege of counting many such legends amongst my friends. From Ashwamedh, 'Karan', Asmita, Bholenath, David, Shail, Navin, Calvin, Sharry, Mayur, Neel in the eIndian community to Stoich, Rainy, 'Windy', Atea, Patton and so, so many others who have inspired me and continue to do so, I salute you ! \m/


That being said, it's still nice to get a shiny medal. Over the years, the ones I used to cherish were the 4 Presidential medals & in recent months, the Dictatorship - which I consider as a badge of trust and honour.

Today, however a new Legends rank of eIndia was born. The very first.




Besides the tanking I've been doing these past few months, this was largely thanks to the 24 hour epic on the eRepublik Anniversary, where I kinda went ballistic & did this:

Of course it would not have been possible without the efforts & support of Shalabh & Neel to begin with. I do hope they themselves as well as many others in eIndia will become Legends in the future !

I will still consider the greater achievement to be my involvement over the years in securing eIndia's sovereignty against pretty dauntless odds, in bringing her back from wipe-outs more times than I care to remember, even the recent rental agreement & the one before that; heck even this couple of days back which we managed to turn from 20 - 70 to 101 - 75 !


Boy, was it tough even if it was a region release !


I hope many more will step up, give their time and energy to make eIndia the awesome place it deserves to be and be counted as one of the legends themselves ! You will always have my full support. o7
