"Get Me In The Fight!"

Day 1,638, 19:51 Published in USA USA by emdoublegee

Today I’ll be talking about the part of the game that drew me into this game right away, the Military module! IRL I’m in the United States Marine Corps, so when I heard the words “military” and “war” I got super excited. I jumped in with both feet without looking into any help topics or talking to anyone about the game. While you can kind of figure this module out by trial and error, its real easy to get sucked in to spending all your money on food and weapons so this topic is for you so you don’t make the same mistakes I did!

Joining a Military Unit(MU)

Before you do anything else I would look into joining a MU. While you can always pick and choose the battles you want to fight in on your own, you’ll help your country out more (and feel like you’re actually doing something) if you join a group. There are a couple options for you in this regard. You can join up with the USAF(United States Armed Forces) or find a militia. Either way I would get on their IRC channel and talk to the players to find out where is the best fit for you. If you don’t know what the IRC is or how to use it, check out This Article

Picking Your Battle

Alright, so you’ve clicked the “WARS” tab, now what?

Here’s what you see:
-USA Campaigns: All the current campaigns our President has us engaged in
-Allies Campaigns: Campaigns current allies are engaged in
-All Campaings: All current campaigns in the eWorld

Two other things to notice are the icons that appear with country flags. If you look at any of the countries we’re fighting in the “USA campaigns” you’ll see a fist, signifying a resistance war. Resistance wars are wars that are started to "liberate" a region that has been conquered by another country. Underneath that in “Allies campaigns” there’s what looks like a treaty, which shows that country is our ally.

To choose your campaign I would communicate with your MU and see what their orders are. Outside of that you can go to #defense in the IRC and check on the eUSA's orders. Once you decide on your campaign, click fight and you move on to the actual battle!

Let’s Get it On!

Now that you’ve chosen your battle you’ll see this screen

The information at the top tells the countries fighting, the region they’re fighting for, and the crowns are how many battles each country has won in the current campaign. Underneath that is the influence bar that shows who is currently winning the battle. Whichever side has more than 50% of the bar filled will be racking up points. Countries get 10 points/minute during the first 30 minutes, 20 points/minute for the second 30 minutes, 30 points/minute for the third 30 minutes, and 60 points/minute for the final 30 minutes. It takes a country 1800 points to win a battle, or whoever has the most points after 2 hours. Once a battle is over there is a period of time before the next battle starts. Once one side has won 8 battles, they win the campaign and either take over/defend that region, depending on what side of the campaign they are on.

Underneath the influence bar you see yourself and your current opponent. Every time you click the attack button you do an amount of damage based on your strength and current weapon, and you lose 10 wellness. You only gain influence points when you defeat an enemy, so if you know it takes you 5 hits to kill an enemy and you only have 40 wellness left, save it for when you can heal yourself, which you can do by clicking the button to the left of the fight bar. Just above the fight bar is your rank progression. As you kill enemies, you get 1/10 of the influence you did added to your current rank points and as you gain points, you will rank up. A couple of notes before I wrap up this article. It's extremely easy to get wrapped up in buying weapons to try and do a lot of damage right off the bat. I know because I did it. But let me tell you, and excuse my yelling but, IT'S A WASTE OF MONEY, DON'T DO IT!!! Weapons only do a small multiplication on your base damage, and when you're just starting out your base damage is very small. Use your money on upgrading your resources, don't waste it on buying weapons. If you're in a good MU they should supply you all the food you need, as well as some weapons sometimes.

There are a lot more things you can, and will learn from continuing to fight and talking to more players, but this should at least give you the basics and get you started. If you have any questions at all, don’t hesitate to shoot me a PM or find me in the IRC. Best of luck to you out there warriors!
