[Prime Minister] Week 2 (Late) progress report (Mickskitz)
Aus Prime Minister Office
Hi all,
I will endeavour to make this a fairly short update. My apologies for not writing this earlier, just gone back to uni and I was hoping to see if I could provide some more info on the alliance situation before I wrote it.
This week was unfortunately not as productive as week 1. Firstly we lost QLD!
This was a big blow to me, as I was optimistic that with TWO's support we would be able to overpower Chile. The writing was on the wall when we were unable to consolidate our victory with another one in NT, but I feel that this all happening days before the alliance falling apart did not help our situation, as well as TWO running another battle to wipe Bulgaria, we were too spread out, and we didn't have enough people able to fight for us. While some may criticise me for not spending any money on these battles, or signing more MPP's (we had a total of 11 when the NT battle started, 8 of which were completed within a day before), I decided that if we were not able to take back our regions with TWO's support, that spending money was only going to delay the inevitable of Chile wiping us again, and that no real benefit would have been received by spending this money, I also decided not to exceed the budget for MPP's as well from what was discussed with the interim senate and cabinet. The size of the nations which were supporting us was not the problem, the problem was that they weren't fighting for us
TWO has fallen!
So the end of the strongest alliance the game has seen has ended. There are various reasons why this has occurred, but I think there was a desire for change in the air. I was online on the IRC channel when it happened, and it seemed to come a little out of the blue. I certainly didn't know that it was so close to happening, but now is the time for us to look for a new alliance which suits us. There are lots of discussions going around, and I have to thank my whole cabinet for being involved and messaging other nations and finding out as much info as we can as to where we go from here. No decisions have been made yet, the Alliances will soon enough be announced, at which time we can look to apply to the one which best suits us. We have communicated with nations that are starting the alliances (and others) about joining, but have been told that they will only look at alliance members once they have formed, so unfortunately we have to wait.
Some people wish to join an alliance with Chile, as that would likely return our regions. Whether this is possible or not I do not know, but personally I am not interested. I would rather ally with countries who have supported us in the past, and we know that we can rely on them, but as I said, nothing is decided yet.
As many of you know, NZ has signed a NAP with Chile in exchange for 2 regions. I personally am not a fan of how they went about this, and it seems that the NZ CP went about this on her own, without consulting her cabinet or citizens (or us), so we will see at the next elections for them what happens.
And the final bit of bad news... It appears we have a PTO problem
🙁We have 3 parties which have been taken over / occupied by Multi's. This poses us with a big problem, which I would like to hear your opinions on, especially since we are so close to congress elections. Do you feel that we should still push in the RW so that we can get a congress in place, or would you rather we deal with the PTO threat first, and then later spend the money it will take to get a cabinet in place. The big risk is that if the Multi’s gain positions in congress, they might be able to impeach the CP in the next election so that their CP gets in, and could really screw us up. I think we should just continue RWing Chile, making them spend more money than they make by holding our regions.
Regardless, Infowar has taken some great initiative and with my support (I only had to agree to it
😛) is establishing a taskforce to deal with the Multi’s. While what this taskforce will do can’t be discussed yet, we hope this will help Australia deal with this problem. Either way, let me know what you think about fighting for congress this month! There is no guarantee that we will win, but if people really want to have a congress, we can give ourselves a good shot at it!
The ADF funding has been sorted out for now, so hopefully supplies will be flowing, thanks again Claire for being organised with that
And we have an article comp which James_Rellori has organised (but refuses to count this as an entry!), and so hopefully there are a few more articles released, otherwise Binda’s Possum article might win it!
Well that is all for now. No doubt I have forgotten something, but I’ll update this later if I have
🙂
Thanks for your support guys, I look forward to hearing the debate down below.

I say no Congress, just RW.
at least he speaks the truth
voted!
Why haven't NZers impeached their president for not consulting her cabinet or citizens?
No cabinet there to impeach her (they are the only ones who can vote to impeach)
You mean Senate. 😉
No congress, let's drain eChile's supplies!
I for one, am present at every RW and will continue to be there in the future to help retake our regions.
Have also noticed eChile has not held up their end of the NAP, with many RW i've watched resulting in Chile victories, however its looking like Wellington could now be returned to eNZ.
eNZ CP Sor3naa very rarely consults her allies/citizens, this pushed me to make the decision to not join eNZ and instead make my career across the ditch in eAUS.
Thanks for the update on alliances Mickskitz 🙂
I would fight in those RW's but that would mean seeing a Chilean flag every day because we lose every day, not by a bit but a total slaughter where we cant even win 3 battles out of 86 and then it costs a fortune for me to move BECAUSE I WILL NOT have a Chilean flag near my name, I would burn it if I could. I cant afford to move every day so i am gonna wait until we get serious (yeah, as if...)
Sign any treaty of alliance with Chile and I will apply for citizenship somewhere else, the likelihood I will forgive them ever is about as likely as a tree growing on the moon.
I see our progress like this >> THIS WEEK slaughtered.. LAST WEEK//..... Slaughtered... last Month etc
well last week is when we won a RW, so I don't know about getting slaughtered. I understand your view on doing a deal with the Chileans, and I know that you are not the only one who feels this way. I can assure you I will not actively seek to be allies with Chile, but I can't control which alliance they end up in, and that same alliance may be the one which is better for Aus, or it equally likely may not be.
You just know deep down in your soul that Chile will always be backstabbers, we can't trust them, I think I'll just dedicate myself to being Chile's enemy, anyone attacking them is my friend. I will fight Chile untill the game fades away into internet history (it doesn't look far away.
Yes you are right I am not very informed these days but then again my MU leader quit the game and I get no more supplies so I can't be blamed for two clicking, also I have had no offers to get involved in politics for 6 months so it is very boring. Only Tim Holtz's imagined feud with me keeps me here with some interest.
Yes we had ONE victory which lasted one whole day before we lost again, as for the word slaughtered I usually see our RW's end with Chile 83 wins against less than 4 for us, seems like a massacre to me. Obviously we had some foreign help for the length of about one day, we need that help all the time not once a year.
A treaty might be the only option at this point. Look around you, do you see any allies who are strong enough, in the case of eNZ, or willing to help you? Argentina just signed an MPP with Chile. They were the only sympathetic country who was close enough geographically to help. Now our two nations are surrounded by Indonesia to the North, and Argentina/Chile to the East.
We have been down that road before, same countries as well and what happened then ?, They were not prepared to let us have our country, instead they tried extortion and bought of some other countries to stay out of it and then vote us down in some glorious meeting of pirates. I can only see that happening again. Chile do not seem the types to give us an inch, join them and we stay crushed forever and we won't even be allowed to try take any province they feel should be theirs. If this was the real world giving in wouldn't be an option either.
I understand your point completely but that requires good will on Chile's part and the same with Indonesia, unless the people there have changed and don't give in to greed (you know they will ) your suggestion might work but the chances of anything remotely like a fair and just treaty are about as likely as The USA beating Australia in the next Rugby League World Cup. (the yanks did very well in the last one but they reminded me a bit of those Jamiacan bobsledders years ago).
We are faced with players with greed that would put a Wall Street swindler would be in awe of.
To understand why the decision was made by the CP in eNZ you would need to understand the fundamental differences between us and you. Firstly, congress is rarely consulted on anything, and the CP is the ultimate power, congress is simply there to vote yes to the CP's proposals and collect gold for medals. This is very different to Australia where every CP decision is scrutinized by the congress, and the congress actually makes laws. There is no legal structure in eNZ, while in Australia there are many laws written that says how and what each sector of the government can do. To be honest, in eNZ there is one single branch, the Prime Minister. His decision is final. Also while people in eNZ might not agree with the CP's decision they'll will back it up once its been made, there is no real political opposition within NZ to criticize the CP, while in Aus no matter who the CP is he's always being criticized by someone.
I don't think not telling Australia was done on purpose, I believe that our CP was simply looking out for our country in the best way possible and as quick as possible due to the quickly changing eworld. We entered this war to help you guys and at the end of the day we failed and there was nothing else we could do. We really shouldn't have even entered the war since our government had no money.
I am not sure atm but have NZ turned on us or have I misread your statement ?
We haven't turned on you, we simply signed an NAP wit chile so we could get two of our regions back. Its not like we'll be fighting against Australia or anything.
Chile don't hate NZ like they hate us. They really hate us.
I understand that put in your shoes I might have acted in the same way. I'm sure it is very hard to manage a nation which does not have significant savings, which is one of the benefits for Aus, we are able to manage our budget reasonably while under occupation, and we can afford to play the waiting game to some extent. I am just glad that we had responsible CP's in the past allowing us to save for a rainy day (I think we are in the middle of a monsoon, but anyway).
Interesting points you make though Val, I didn't realise how different our nations were with how we run ourselves. I personally think that Australia has a fairly strong government system, and the laws we have put in place prevent abuse (mind you the impeach button never stays cold for long).
To a greater extent it doesn't matter much who the CP of the country is, the country is basically ruled by a collective group of "elders". Pretty much this group of people decides who the next CP will be. Unfortunately in eNZ we have all grown rather complacent and inactive tbh, so the situation to let you guys know about the NAP was probably due to that more than anything else.
voted.
not worth the risk of a RW
