^*^*Presidential Interview: Desertfalcon*^*^

Day 470, 18:31 Published in USA USA by changewillcome

Below is my interview of presidential candidate Desertfalcon.

Questions:
1. Since many voters determine their choice for president based on experience and character, can you describe your previous leadership experiences and how those experiences will influence your approach to leadership of the eUnited States.
2. The effectiveness of a president is often judged by the members of the cabinet. Describe your approach to the selection of members of your cabinet as president, and provide any details you can regarding current selections and their credentials for the post.
3. Recently the decision was made to attack Portugal in the Azores for the sake of benefiting the eUS economy and wellness of the population, share your expectations of the justification, benefit and frequency of military action during your presidency.
4. As the president, you will, by virtue of your office represent the eUnited States to our allies, our enemies and around the eRepublik globe. Describe your vision for the future of ATLANTIS, your concerns with PEACE and other alliances, and your general perspective on the eUSA’s role in the international community of eRepublik.
5. Over the last several months, competing tax plans have taken center stage in Congressional debate and the Media. Explain in as much detail as possible (given the 200 word constraint) your perspectives on Taxation and Monetary Policy.
6. If elected president, in rank order, describe the top three priorities or actions that the eUS voter may expect to see from “day one” of your term.
7. While the previous questions focused on the benefits of electing you as president, now describe the positive qualities that your opponents would bring to the office of president.
8. Finally, as a closing statement, please complete the following statement: The citizens of the eUSA should elect me to the office of president because.

Desertfalcon's response:

1. I have been playing for almost a year now and have been in congress for seven terms, both Beta and V1. I have served as the secretary of state in 3 different cabinets, I was the general of the Marines last summer and I have served as party president for 5 months and led my party to tie for the majority in congress last month despite having half the membership of the USWP.
2. As president I am going to try and find the best possible people to work in my administration. Out of all the possible no matter their party affiliation, hell I just went across the pacific ocean to bring one of the most well known Americans back from Japan to help me lead this country. I know a lot of people in this country and I will do my best to get the strongest people in the best positions.
3. Now that we have these Mexican territories the need for war with Portugal is diminished. Personally I think the war with Portugal was a dumb idea, we never really had a shot at taking any ground and we had an open front with France. If we were to of just fought in France we could of avoided activating all those MPPs that Portugal had and we would not have to worry about a sneak attack. War is good for our economy and I will admit real war is better then war games however we need to be careful about who we go attacking in a real war.
4. I am well known for my stance on Atlantis, If elected I will keep us in the alliance for the first week or two while I speak with other nations about the possibility of getting a simple defense alliance which are just like "I have your back and you have mine." After I get a few of those I will discuss the possibility of a third alliance bloc with other nations. Now this new alliance bloc would be fairly small however it would be more close knit and efficient then the larger ones.
5. I am in favor of lower income taxes and higher import taxes, however taxes are more of a congressional issue
6.
A. Getting our military trained through the resistance war games
B. Getting things sorted out with/ Leaving Atlantis
C. Slightly strengthen the dollar so that it stays within the range .019-.022
7. Uncle Sam has experience and has played the game a few weeks longer then I have, Jewitt is pretty versatile and was actually on my short list for VP candidates until he decided to run, and although I often disagree with him Scrabman is good at defending his positions on issues relating to the economy.
8. I have the leadership ability that the other candidates seem to lack. This is the most important characteristic for a president to have, I am not one to sit around and just let things happen. If I get elected I am going to follow the same philosophy I have followed for my entire life, that is to set ambitious goals and then move heaven and earth to achieve them. Emerick and I won't just present you the facts, we will present you with the facts and tell you what we plan to do and how we plan to do it. If you don't like it then don't vote for me. The president needs to be someone who can take a stand and defend his position, not someone who diddle daddles around the key issues to please everyone.

Sincerely,
Changewillcome
