[President] Happy New Year... and a small reminder

Day 1,137, 07:53 Published in Sweden Sweden by Valnad

Let us remember the good things that happened during 2010 and prepare for the challenges and opportunities that lies ahead in 2011!

Sadly, I have heard from some of our Danish brethren that they have received messages and threats from Swedes. This is something we should leave behind as we move into a new era of prosperity and unity between the Scandinavian countries. They have lost their country, which is something I wouldn't wish even for our worst enemy as it's a severe blow to the community and it may take months to recoupe from such an event.

Danes and Swedes help eachother. We benefit from them working here and fighting for our military, so it's not we're doing them a favor while they mooch on us. I personally feel that they've brought some flavor to our community and as far as I'm concerned, they may stay for as long as they feel like.

We should be grateful for what we have and the friendly neighbors that support our cause. Although we generally make fun of eachother whenever there's a chance for it, deep down inside, I truly believe that almost every Danish, Swedish, Norwegian and Finnish citizen would like to see an even better co-operation and stronger bond between our countries.

But enough about the boring stuff....

We close the chapter of 2010 as one of the largest countries in the world. Even though we still struggle with modest population figures, we've managed to occupy enemy territories and defend these throughout the last couple of months.

A year ago, when we left 2009 behind, we were dwindling down in a negative trend. Today, I'm proud to say that I think it's the opposite way we're heading right now. Our economy is stronger than it has been since last year and we've increased our presence and activity in foreign affairs and conflicts, making us an appreciated ally to sign MPP with. We're also moving into a new world, where Phoenix is no longer around and EDEN is likely to change a lot as well.

This puts us in a delicate yet interesting situation. We will have to wait and see what awaits us in the future, but let us not forget who we are and what we've accomplished in the past. Together we will stand strong. Always outnumbered, never outgunned.

Making my way through icy roads and snowy weather, I wish you all - swedes, danes, norwegians, finns and all our other allies - a very good evening and a happy new year.

I'll see you next year... wherever the action is.

Valnad,
President of Sweden
