[Presidência] Reacção ao duplo NE [PT/EN]

Caros ePortugueses,


Estamos neste momento numa situação delicada, sendo que durante o dia de ontem surpreendentemente sofremos um duplo NE dos EUA e de Espanha.
Mantivemos por isso, durante o dia de ontem reuniões com vários países no sentido de procurar a melhor solução possível para este ataque.

O Governo convocou também uma reunião com o Congresso para discutir a situação, sendo que chegamos à conclusão que o NE aos EUA deveria ser rejeitado. Entendemos que o nosso inimigo é e será sempre… Espanha. Espanha é também o único dos dois países que precisa e pretende verdadeiramente as nossas regiões. A prioridade serão assim as batalhas contra Espanha.

Posto isto, refiro que Portugal manterá a sua postura de coragem, orgulho e lealdade. Lutaremos contra aqueles que num ataque vil não foram capazes de proferir um ataque isolado. Reafirmamos que defenderemos orgulhosamente o nosso território e os interesses nacionais.

Finalizo referindo que é nos piores momentos que se vê quem de facto está e estará sempre ao nosso lado. Não estaremos sozinhos nesta luta e nunca abandonaremos aqueles que tudo fazem por nós. Contaremos assim com o apoio dos nossos aliados a quem envio um profundo agradecimento pelas mensagens de apoio enviadas ontem.

Resta-me apelar que estejam atentos e sigam as ordens do Ministério da Defesa.

Dear Portuguese,


We are now in a delicate situation, and during yesterday we surprisingly suffered a double NE from the U.S. and Spain.

Therefore we kept, during the day, meetings with various countries to seek the best possible solution for this attack.

The Government also convened a meeting with the Congress to discuss the situation, and we concluded that the NE to the U.S. should be rejected. We understood that our enemy is and will always be... Spain. Spain is also the only one of the two countries that needs and truly wants our regions. Priority will thus be the battles against Spain.

Having said that, I mean that Portugal will maintain its stance of courage, pride and loyalty. Those who are about to fight a vile attack have not been able to deliver an isolated attack. We reaffirm that we proudly defend our territory and national interests.

I conclude by saying that it’s during the worst of times when you see who actually is and will always be by our side. We will not be alone in this fight and will never forsake those who do everything for us. So will have the support of our allies to whom I send a deep gratitude for the messages of support sent yesterday.

It remains for me to appeal you to follow the orders of the Ministry of Defense.
