Where the Garden meets the Sky
Long time ago, I showed this picture to a couple of friends in eJapan, and I told them is the place where I would sit quietly sipping eTea all day. For that period, the mood was slow and quaint. But as time has passed, I find this picture now gives such a remarkable image about eJapan. This old style house, with its own traditional garden creates the groundwork; in the background, pristine, modern buildings touch the skyline.
It is much like eJapan: Our country has changed very rapidly since the "Golden Era" of years ago, we have encountered new enemies and allies, received immigrants from around the world, watched new businessmen rise (and fall), and seen the popularity of new crazy and wacky politicians. This rapid change requires a government willing to embrace these opportunities.
That is why, today, I would like to announce my Presidential Campaign for February 2013.
You know me as Myung Kei: Deputy Speaker of Congress, vMoD, Several Time Congressman, Former eAsian President, and of course, avid Monopoly Board Game Lover! Now, why exactly does this old coot want to run?
Turning on the Lights
Last month, I agreed to join the current cabinet because I felt that eJapan needed a change in direction and a burst of activity. While I am honored to work with President Akki, I am left with the same feelings I had over a month ago. We are out of the rut of December so to speak, but the car is still in neutral. We are spinning our wheels but nothing is moving forward. Added to that, new issues have arisen:
Resistances Wars and Battles have been uncoordinated
Tempers have flared with Immigration Debate in Congress
Tensions between Immigrant factions have been at an all time high
Government Activity and Transparency have plummeted
The status quo is not working, but all we are doing is continuing the status quo. It's time we stopped simply governing our country, and started leading. It's time someone had the courage to turn on the lights.
A Preview of Things to Come: Active Cabinet
Now, in the limited space I have, it will be impossible to list out all my ideas in one article: Updating and Translating our Newbie Guides, Creating a Military Distribution System, Establishing Transparent Finances, Incorporating Constantine and Janissary voices in the Government, etc. Don't worry, I have reserved a lot of space for our ideas and your questions!
Today I want to talk about this:
One of the main goals of a Kei administration will be to provide eJapan with a Transparent, and most importantly, Active government. This will require new people serving in old ministries, and a reshuffle of other people to positions where they will serve the most good.
One of the accomplishments of the previous administration was organizing a cabinet wide chat to discuss and debate important government issues. Our Cabinet would be honored to continue this wonderful practice.
In addition, I would like at least 1 Constantine Party Member and a Janissary Member to sit as advisers in a Kei cabinet. They have wonderful military experience that is critical in coordinating military actions. They can decline if they so choose, but our team believes their involvement is crucial toward bridging the gap between eNationalities.
Lastly, as president, it will be my responsibility to fire Ministers if they are inactive, and replace them with people who can commit to the job. You can count on that!
I hope this is the start of a wonderful partnership eJapan, next time, I will give the rundown of the domestic agenda! Education, Immigration, and Reconciliation, and Financiation (not even a word, but sounded cool anyway)!
