[PotUS] Entering a New Era

Day 1,669, 19:05 Published in USA USA by Israel Stevens
My fellow Americans,

By now you have probably already heard the news that we lost a brother a few days ago. The great nation of Brazil, has made the very difficult decision to leave Terra.

While I do not agree with this choice, I respect the decision made by President kuarw and his cabinet. Decisions like this, are never easy and I can only imagine the countless hours that were put in before they came to this final resolution.

About a year and a half ago, Brazil and the United States took a chance. From the ashes of Phoenix, something new was formed. We reached out, and looked beyond our past differences. We formed an alliance that was based around the Western Hemisphere. One that did not get drawn into the endless battles of the Balkans. For a year and a half, we have stood with Brazil. We have fought for her. We have felt her pain when she had no regions. And they have done the same for us.

Where do we go from here?
As a nation, we remain committed to Terra. Greater men than I established this alliance, and I’ll be damned if I see it turned to ashes around us. We must learn from Brazil. Use her as a lesson never to be repeated. If there are flaws in Terra, we must address them head on. When we ignore problems, they fester and only come back to haunt us ten-fold.

Despite the bad news, there is hope. Steps have already been taken to ensure that the United States and Brazil remain close allies. Despite their differences with Terra, they remain as committed to the United States, as we do to them. We will remain by Brazil’s side, and in seven days time, we will renew our MPP.

The loss of Brazil from Terra, does not mean the loss of Brazil from the United States. We remain friends, and we will remain that way into the future.

Where does Terra go from here?
The alliance is not dead, despite what some may say, and despite what ONE may want you to think. The loss of Brazil hurts, there is no denying that. But the loss of Brazil is not the end of the alliance.
France, Germany, Cyprus, Canada, Russia and the United States remain in the alliance and more so we remain dedicated to Terra. We’re not dead, and we’re not going anywhere. We will stand against ONE as long as we are able. And if we are to fall, we will do so laughing.

There is fresh blood on the horizon, and Terra will be invigorated because of it. Although we are shrouded in darkness now, there is great hope for the future.

We will survive this,
because we must.
