[PotUS] Day Twenty Eight

Day 2,266, 13:18 Published in USA Poland by Wild Owl

Hey America,

Its been three days since my previous update, so all of you are due a new article. This one will probably be a bit longer than the usual ones because of the considerable content that needs to be covered.

Hostilities with Portugal

Our war against Portugal didn’t start very well. Working with our foes, they were able to open Resistance Wars which were a pain to win, although after considerable hard work by many citizens and the National Security Council, we were able to comfortably win all four Resistance Wars. However, the victories came at a cost- we lost our initial attack against Portugal.

Portugal then attacked Florida, and we were able to beat them with considerable ease. Our allies, Spain, have managed to take Algarve from Portugal although the Portugese were able to hold them off in Madeira. Since then, we’ve taken the Azores and are well on our way to take Alentejo, while Spain and Portugal battle it out in Castille y Leon.

From an economic perspective, we gain absolutely nothing by attacking Portugal. However, for the duration of this competition, this has proven to be a fruitful exercise which has rejuvenated our community and provided help to Spain. I am thankful to Portugal for providing us good competition militarily, after a long time.

Alliance Discussions

It is no secret that we will be joining an anti-Serbia alliance, and our FA department is working tirelessly to ensure that our group ends up on the winning side. In the past few days, we have signed MPPs with Spain, Poland and the United Kingdom- all of them our foes, in the past, who have moved on from Serbia.

Some old brothers like Croatia and Albania are obviously going to stay on our side. Russia has committed full support to us, and we are thankful to have them by our side. Others have decided to part ways, despite our attempts at continuing relations, as they donot approve of our new friends. This is natural and is only to be expected in times of alliance upheavel. We wish them the very best of luck in all future endeavours.

Our northern neighbours, meanwhile, have decided to sign a MPP with Serbia. Despite our friendship with Poland and Spain, we never fought against Canada when its core regions were concerned, respecting our old friendship and the brolliance. Say what you will about Canada being “forced” to do this, Canada had a fair shot at working out an agreement as it has done in the past with its occupiers, but it chose a different route. It is disappointing to see them take this path, but to each, their own.

This is about it. I’m running for a second term, as many of you would know and am thankful for the support that I have received so far. I hope you guys do consider voting for me, and continuing our successes on the 5th of February.

Sincerely,
Wild Owl
