[Political Interview] eUS Presidential Candidate - Evry

Day 1,683, 22:59 Published in USA USA by Hextos

Hello citizens!

Within the next couple of days I am going to post interview articles from the responses to 7 questions from each eUS Presidential candidate. The four candidates that are going to be interviewed are Evry, GloveisLove, Tenshibo, and Civil Anarchy.

I would like to thank each of these candidates for taking the time to answer these 7 questions.

Today, I will be interviewing the eUS Presidential candidate Evry from the USWP!

Please note that none of the content within this article will be biased toward any candidate.

Q: = Hextos
A: = Evry

1. Q: "What makes you a more viable candidate compared to your opponents?"

A: "I have a lot of experience in a very wide range of positions. I have some innovative new ideas and I believe that my vision for America is the best. I am confident that if elected, America will not regret their decision."

2. Q: "What is your view on the Terra alliance and how will our current status with Terra change if you are elected? Also, how does Brazil leaving the alliance affect the USA?"

A: "Terra has been a great alliance to be a member of. Unlike EDEN or ONE, Terra member nations actually get a long. It's more of a friendship than a military alliance. As a result, I believe that if we were to leave Terra, we would retain many, if not all, of our current allies. Therefore, if elected, I will be willing to leave Terra, provided that path is the best path indicated by all relevant evidence and advice from our allies, and my cabinet. I will not campaign solely on a specific path because the state of International Relations is constantly changing. If I promise to leave TERRA' and then TERRA manages to work out its problems in the future, the US looks like an ass and it places us in the position of sticking to our word or living with people we just tried to blow off.

So, in summary of my position in regards to Terra is I advocate for an informed approach. I will not rush into a decision, but at the same time, I won't sit idly by and wait for something to happen."

3. Q: "Do you believe that the current NAP with Poland should continue? Why or why not?"

A: "Yes, the NAP with Poland (while it may seem cowardly) is a good thing to have happened for the eUS. Poland is extremely strong. We lost 4 or 5 battles by a decent margin in a row before the NAP was negotiated. The only reason we won in North Carolina (and the battles subsequent to that) was because the NAP was already being discussed and Poland no longer cared about the outcome. Poland, as a country, is very strong, and is far more organized than we are which is something I plan to work on. If we break that NAP we can be assured that Poland and her allies will come back to our shores and this time won't be dissuaded."

4. Q: "Do you believe that Ukraine should be removed from EDEN due to their opposition with the Republic of Moldovia? Why or why not?"

A: "My belief in regards to the Ukrainian-Moldova issue is quite simple. When I spoke earlier about making an informed decision about the status of the eUS in Terra, there is one decision that I won’t support and that’s the re-joining of the eUS into EDEN. Therefore, I don’t have a position in regards to the Ukraine-Moldova drama simply because I believe it is wrong for a nation not in an alliance to attempt to exert influence on that alliance. I simply ask myself “If a Moldovan or Ukrainian CP came to me tomorrow and asked me to boot Germany or France from Terra, how would I respond?” And the answer to that question is probably with an expletive followed by the word “you”. Therefore, I maintain that EDEN is free to do as it wishes in regards to that conflict."

5. Q: "If you are elected, where do you believe the USA would be at the end of your term. (As far as militarily, economically, etc.)"

A: "At the end of my term I see America’s military more organized, economy still going strong, political scene more livened, morale boosted, complacency reduced, and allies back on the map. I’ll now elaborate on each of those;

I plan to further the work of Israel Stevens and his staff in improving the organization of the USAF. They have made valuable progress and I hope to continue that effort.

I also plan to keep the economy going strong. I have a very strong background in eRepublik economics and will use that experience and skill to ensure our country has the strongest economy in the game.

Recently, the political system in this country has boiled down to the RLC vs. everyone else and it’s boring and repetitive. While I won’t directly exert influence over the political process, I do foresee the political landscape changing, and not necessarily as a result of me doing anything.

Additionally, I currently have a plan to dramatically increase the morale of the country as well as reduce the complacency seen everywhere in our community. I can’t go more than 2 days without someone shouting something to the effect of “I’m bored, see ya later eRep”. We’re losing valuable people and talent to boredom which is something we need to at least attempt to prevent. While our Department of the Interior is awesome and does truly amazing work, there is no program out there besides the military that deals with attempting to keep already established players playing. I have a plan to fix that and hope that I get the chance to enact it.

The main pillar of my Foreign Affairs and Military plans are quite simple really. I hope to aid our allies in the recovery of their regions occupied by the likes of Poland, Slovenia, and Indonesia. There are multiple ways of doing this including military action against our enemies via MPPs, direct attacks upon our enemies, as well as the acquisition of additional resources in order to help our allies’ communes produce more weapons and tanks to beat back the ONE’s evil hordes."

6. Q: "What real life experiences have you had that will make you a good president of the USA?"

A: "While I may be considered an oldfgt in eRep terms, I am not an oldfgt in real life. I’m only 20 and therefore don’t have a wealth of real life experiences. However, about a month ago I went on a charity medical relief trip to Peru. I was there for a weak and myself along with 60 other college students provided free medical care to roughly 1700 poor Peruvians. I realize I won’t be providing medical care in eRep, I did have to relate to hundreds of people from a different country. I had to recognize differences in culture and society in order to aid myself in understanding them, and vice versa. It truly was an amazing trip and a great opportunity."

7. Q: "If you are elected, what problems are you going to focus on the most during your term?"

A: "There are 3 main problems I will focus on if elected President. They are foreign affairs, military organization, and complacency.

As far as foreign affairs goes, we’re currently at a crossroads in regards to Terra and what to do with our foreign affairs direction. I plan on using my 2 months of Secretary of State experience on resolving that and ensuring we select the path most fitting and most appropriate for the nation.

Military organization is something I have first hand knowledge of due to my 2 months spent as Secretary of Defense in addition to the 3 or 4 months spent as XO of the USAF-Army (currently called Air Force) and more recently time spent as an officer within the Special Forces. I plan on making the USAF into the most efficient and organized fighting force in the eWorld. This is something we are certainly capable of with a little more work and effort.

Lastly is something I mentioned earlier, but, complacency within the eUS has reached an all time high. Recently someone I know ran a poll asking America what it wants to do in regards to Terra. It got only 26 responses despite being publicized in an article, on the forums, and in shouts. I would think that everyone would want a say in what is going to happen next, and yet, barely anyone took the time and effort to contribute to the poll. I have a special plan for that consisting of IRC, in-game, and forum contests with prizes along with a slight change in the way we do media. By the end of my term, I foresee a country that actually gives a damn and that’s actually involved in the running of the country."

That's it for today's interview with Evry. Once again, I would like to thank her for the time she took to answer these questions.
