Although my cabinet is mainly a cabinet that ´watches the shop´, I do feel the urge to speak out about certain things.

Yes, things are looking more bleak then ever for our country, population is at an all time low, and this has enormous consequences. Out of need desperate need this ´emergency´ government was born. Which is quite unique in some sense. Our country has had a tradition of emulating the RL government forming, which was coalition based. Parties with the mayority in congress sit together and form a government. This was undoable this term, and therefore a government was formed from pro-active members of many parties.

How did we get here, how come the eNL has such a small populus?

1. V2 killed a lot of 2-clickers, and scared away a lot of (pro)active players
2. bayboom is still a wish, and not a fact
3. the language change to mainly dutch was untimely, it should have done when there was an actual babyboom in progress, not before that. Now we scared of English speakers + people sympathtic to an English-community in our country
4. not enough battles
5. government stucture? although controversial in our country, some people suggested that the current structure of government also doesn´t help out solve our problems in the best manner

How we could deal with these issues?

1.V2: we can´t do a lot about the in-game mechanicsthen moan, complain and make tickets towards the admins. Fortunetly it seems that they got the message and are slowly changing things to V1 standards. This is a very hopefull prospect, and the main reason why many still keep up with this game.
2. Babyboom: many people complain about the lack of the babyboom, as former minister of R&C and current co-director of R&C I can tell this isn´t an easy job, and certainly won´t happen overnight. To everyone worried about this: don´t complain, but roll up your sleaves and help! Our team is way too small as it is now! So Apply as recruiter today, it´s the only thing that can actually work in the long run. We are looking for everyone willing to help out promote erepublik on forums, and also help out generate new ideas to make this happen.
3. Language: I proposed in congress to change the language to official bi-langual status, yes this may seem as ´too late´ in some peoples eyes. However for now it is all we can do, and I hope people abroad will see this act as a a important symbolic gesture towards our international friends.
4. Battles: fortunatly the admins has recognized this problem for smaller countries like the eNetherlands, they have a hard time paying for MPP´s. The MPPs rules changed so that we will get more battles out of an MPP, and the admins are even thinking about lowering MPP prices for smaller nations. We just signed a MPP with Russia, we don´t have an idication when they will attack or be attacked, but everyone is waiting with great suspense for that moment.
5. Government structure: I proposed some ideas for government-reforms in congress, I think they are a mix of what is considered now as coalition-gov and cp-gov. would love to see some feedback and debate on those topics, so we can improve them into something that could actually see the day of light.

Other Gov-matters:

Minister of I&I

Our minister of Interior and Information Shakerr decided to resign his post as Minister of Interior & Information. Former SS of I&I Broersje succeeds him now as Minister.
Although I don´t complete agree with his all his underlying reasings, I do regret that Shakerr stepped down, because he was an excellent Minister of I&I, and helped greatly with writing many articles for the government. Among the reasons he left was the lack of communication and trust, alas that was also the first time I read such a complaint, although I would like to have gotten such a complaint earlier, I do tend to agree with him. It´s vital to keep communicating (internally ánd externally), even if there is hardly anything to communicate about! So if there is anything you need to get off your chest, don´t hesitate and PM me or contact your colleagues on the government forum. Only if we work together we can make this country great again!

Forum-Medals

A exciting prospect is that Kixtart has almost fully implemented my idea for customized country-medals into our forum, so hopefully that will see the light shortly!
