[PM] Government plans

Day 864, 01:40 Published in Netherlands Netherlands by Flando

Citizens,

Yesterday, late in the evening, the new cabinet was accepted by Congress.
We promised the plans will follow shortly, and we made sure that this would happen.

On a personal note, I have something to say:
Now that I am both PP and PM, I want to do both jobs good. Therefore, I quit ALL other jobs I have in erepublik exept for being congressman. Being in Congress is needed, because every government member in congress gives the government a more stable position.
I will contact the ones needed to lay the tasks down.

The government plans:
Prime Minister:

The PM and CP should work more closely and interact on a regular basis to inform each other of ongoing events and how they might influence the work of both representatives.

The PM does less work on his own, but works hard to make sure the right job is done by the right ministry. Because the ministries are specialised.

Home Affairs:

Now that the Netherlands left the union, it´s name eUNL is under scrutiny. Congress generally supports keeping the name, however a referendum for the eDutch people should be started asking the eDutch people if we should continue with this name, or revert to eNL.

State Secretary Dutchclass will form a department within the ministry of Home Affairs. This department will execute researches, so that the government will be able to work with the right information.

Foreign Affiars:

FA will continue experimenting with a new ambassador system, and increase the recruitment of active ambassadors.

They will talk to our allies about MPP's, wars and ongoing national and international problems.

A special delegate for Belgium will be installed. He or she will focus on our relations with Belgium exclusively.
This delegate is able to ask the help of any minister or ministry.

Finances:

The financial position of the country is still weak, though not longer unstable. We have to ensure it doesn’t get that way either though, so the Minister of Finance will have to keep a very close look on the financial matters.

At the moment, taxes are still higher than they have been in the past (the so called ‘war tax’, but this government feels we should not lower the taxes right away, at least not untill our financial position improves a bit.

We think it is wise to keep one MPP with a large country and possibly one more if the situation requires so. It is considered a waste of money to start any more MPP’s at the moment.

State Companies:

State Companies will continue to work the way they do, but with an ever critical eye towards cost/effectiveness. State companies will also make an assessment about how it expects the companies to function in v2.

Defense:

Defense will also make an assessment about how they expect the organisation should be run in v2. We realise that this cannot be concluded 100%, but preparations should be made nonetheless.

Defense should also look into the opportunity to make small sub-brigades of the regular army, which can take turns in battles abroad (in order to enlarge fighting-experience for non-elite members of the army).

Raws:

The ministry of raw materials will go on with their usual business, though they will aim at better transparency and communication, to reduce costs and open Raws for everybody.

New company managers have a hard time finding the ministry of raws, a small add budget should be considered.

Economy:

The ministry of economy will continue to assist the ministry of state companies in order to ensure maximum effectiveness in those companies. MoE will also start up a Chamber of Commerce and possibly a coaching program for entrepreneurs if interest is big enough. Last, MoE will assist the MoF and the special delegate for Belgian affairs with making a report on all assets Belgium had before, during and when it left the union.

Recruitment and Coaching:

The recruitment section will step up in activity now coaching is ready for a babyboom. Recruitment will get there own (baby-boom) forum.

Coaching: Country welcome message will be proposed soon, then we can start coaching all newborns

R&C will continue to work on our new babyboom websites. We have bought 2 domains, and they will put them to good use.

Media and Education:

Apart from the regular updates on government, once or twice a week (in cooperation with R&C) we´ll send out an educational article to inform newer players.
(We thank LSD for the idea, and all credit goes to them!)
