Salaams/ Hey All,

I posted an article on this topic some time ago but I think it's time to revisit the subject in the face of current events.

For those of you who think this is above you, that this is not a real factor, that this does not apply to you, I suggest you think again.

Some Facts:

At some point or another we all, intentionally or otherwise, make fun, mock, ridicule, abuse some random person on the internet.

And it's become so easy, with all the technological advancements etc to do it. To do it anonymously. Without repercussion.

We have such good excuses too!

"It's just a name after all. And we have our ego to to stroke in front of all the other names reading. *shrug* So who cares, right?"

"It wasn't really meant to hurt him."

"She's just too sensitive."

"He deserved it, he started it!!"

And others laugh at your wittiness and it's ok. It's fine. Not.

There are children here, teenagers more than a decade younger than some players. And a lot of them turn very aggressive because of what they see online or suffer at the hands of older players.

They turn defensive and then adopt the same volatile, verbally violent attitude.

It's really sad to see. And I wish I could say I haven't contributed to it. I probably have. And I want to apologize to the people I have mocked, no matter how politely it was delivered. Whether it was public or private.

The reasonable part of us agree that it is wrong but our actions say otherwise.

I want the citizens of Pakistan, citizens of the world really, to change this degrading behavior. No matter who started it, YOU end it!

For those of you who believe that this kind of behavior is acceptable, that if you play such a game, it's to be expected & therefore allowable. Then I can only say you have an extremely narrow approach to life and that your sentiments resemble the mind of an uneducated person & in fact you shouldn't be playing this game.

Your age, your position in this eSociety...nothing allows you to demean another human being.

Think about it.

I appreciate this article very much, not just because it reminds something that should be written in our common sense, but mainly because it's a very responsible act to ask people stopping bullying each other starting with your own excuses for what could have hurted someone else.

Flame is anger. Anger gives new goals, new reasons to fight. Each time you get angry and aggress someone here, you strengthen your goals in game, you are more willing to hold on, whatever this game is or is becoming.

I always asked myself why so few insults are removed, so few bad comments are censored and why this becomes day by day worse and worse. I think that this is some marketing policy: when we get angry, we force ourselves not to give up, and this helps only those who allowed our insults with their lack of censorship.

Shouldn't the flamers feel like puppets? Shouldn't the victims who start to react badly feel like scapegoats? Who's really interested to our fights?
We should think twice, before helping those who are having benefits from our fights, don't you think?

You're absolutely correct, Fanax, it can be said that the admins encourage this kind of behaviour by not implementing enough guards against it.
Even though it's their duty to do so.
