***Operation: Portugal Thunder [For The Lulz]***

Today, I bring you WAR!!!!!

We have polled the general population on their stance of going to war, and a vast majority of them agreed. I will not be one to deny you what you want, and so a battle has now been started in Azores. Now we must answer why we are attacking, so Just like Justinious did before me, I will not give you justification, but reasons.


This battle can not be justified!
That's right, there is no real good justification as to why we are attacking Portugal. They have done nothing to us, and we don't have any incentive to unleash the dogs of war on them. Don't come to me asking for justification for this battle, because there is no reason why we make them "suffer" like they are under our attack. so if this battle is not justified, then why did we even go through with it?


For the Economy
The main reason we're going into this battle is for the economic stimulus. War always increases demand, and so this single battle will give us a jump start to begin buying products. An argument against this of course is that the government shouldn't be spending gold and money on a war with the status of the Treasury, and they're partly right. We wouldn't go through with this war if it didn't help out Treasury, however precautions were taken so that it does in fact help us rebuild. Weapons VAT tax was increased so that we may suck up some of the money made when weapons are bought of the market. With weapons being in such high demand, many people will be buying all stocks off the market, so the VAT will allow us to rake in a good amount of the money spent on weapons.

This tax is also protecting the dollar value. We will be supplying the military with weapons, however only so much as to not deplete our coffers. As you know, 60K USD was donated to Fort Knox Federal Reserve, however we will not use that money to fund the military. Instead we will use what USD remains on the QMG to supply soldiers which is currently around 15K. If more supplies are needed to win the battle, they will be given more money within reason. Once the battle is over, the QMG will be reimbursed with USD from Fort Knox so that it may continue to gather gold for our treasury. As you can see, plans for economic stability have been made very carefully for this battle.

All in all, this battle will drive prices up a bit. Companies will be able to profit, thus keeping them afloat. It will encourage more consumer spending and money can be brought in through the tax system that is now set up. More importantly, after this battle, we'll have recovered a lot more money into the treasury, and soon after we'll be able to bring all of your income taxes back down. That is what we'll gain economically through this battle.


For the Wellness
It may be a surprise to you that our general population can gain wellness through war. Yes, by moving to Florida, fighting until you have 50 wellness and then using the hospital to heal yourself can actually improve your wellness! Not only will you enjoy fighting a couple times, but you can end the day by having 100 wellness. Keep in mind, this must be done properly, so there are a few rules.

1. Only fight until you have 50 wellness
2. A hospital can only be used once a day, and only after you fight.
3. After you've used a hospital, do not fight again for the rest of the day.

Here's the exception to these rules. This battle will be over the course of two days, Be sure to use the hospital once tonight, and then again tomorrow! Also, you are able to fight again after you've used the hospital ONLY if you are willing to spend your own gold to buy wellness pack. For the Glory
Don't misinterpret this title, I just like to talk about glory. The point of this is really for the military experience we can get from this. We want our soldiers to rank up, we want to get stronger. We want a chance to give our new V1 baby boomers a chance to taste war. There is no way we can grow militarily if we do not get first hand experience. I expect that all Americans fight the way the Spanish did yesterday, and that if you are able to, buy yourself some higher quality weapons to increase the damage you do.

I want to make this much clear, the USA is not going to be imperialistic through this attack. If we succeed in securing Azores, We will return the region in about 7 days, maybe less through a resistance war. We have no interest in keeping Portugal's land, however it is still our goal that we win so that we may war again when we return the region.


For the Lulz
Finally, war is fun! There are those who say we shouldn't go to war, and why is that? I've just given you 4 great reasons why we should start a battle here and there. This is a game, war is a part of this game, and it's fun. People are most active when there is war, so this war will give us all an opportunity to have fun and get our population active. Also, this is the first time where the playing field is level where trivia is not a factor. Everyone will do maximum damage, so why not take advantage of this opportunity to kick some ass?
