**Official statement of the government concerning the Q1 Food situation**
Bundesministerium des Inneren
Dear citizens and company owners.
The price of Q1 Food has risen to unbearable levels recently and the government is determined to not let this continue. eGerman Q1 food today is nearly twice as expensive as comparable products on the international market.
Entrepreneurs and Industrialists are encouraged to take advantage of this profit opportunity and start a company in the Q1 Food sector. If the market is not able to handle this situation on its own and if prices do not return to more reasonable levels the government will be forced to take action.
Reasonably priced and readily available Q1 Food is crucial for the wellbeing of our new citizens and thus for the prosperity and security of our nation.
Thank You
The Administration

To avoid an overshooting on this situation with TOO MANY food companies being created, interested businessmen please indicate your desire to act on this problem here in this thread.
10 new food companies would simply create a new problem, so please use the chance to coordinate yourselves here.
I will start producing Q1 food for you, I already got a company.
The wages have raised alot the last week. A high general wage, the more all products will cost, and for Q1 food you notice alot.
enjoy starving
world economy... you need something? lower the import taxes and the work is done

I doubt this will solve anything. We need more citizens before starting new companies. Even now there's not enough manufacturing workers for all the companies. Most companies don't even have 10 workers or half of their workforce is inactive/dead.
Manufacturing salaries have been on the rise for the quite some time because there's more companies than workers. That may be good for the workers at first glance but the general managers have to adjust their prices to the increasing salaries to make any profit.
At the moment I'm selling Q2 food for 3 DEM (that's quite expensive in comparison the the world market) and I'm not making any profit at all. Today I have to raise the wages again to keep my workers and I will lose even more money if I keep on selling for 3 DEM.
Quick example for Q1. With my current workforce at a Q1 food company my break even point would be 1.68 (1.93 with tax). If I would buy grain on the German market it would be 1.90 (2.18 with tax).
No German company can lower the Q1 food prices without losing money.
I see that a bit differently, I enjoy running a company not for profit, but for kicks. If eventually I do make some profit, hey, then it was worth the shot!
I am willing to start producing Q1 Food in Bavaria.
