[OFFICIAL] Impeaching the Japanese President

Day 1,087, 12:08 Published in Japan Japan by Geno Garon

The new law asking for President Sugawara Michizane to step down.

Ladies and Gentlemen of eJapan, we knew this day would arrive.

Although President Michizane has not yet "abused" his office any more than any other President, Congress is exceptionally uneasy at his admitted progress, that is, to repeat his last tenure's actions of trolling the nation, stealing what he can, and generally causing havoc. It is with this in mind that we begin the impeachment proposal against our elected President; not out of punishment, but protection.

President Sugawara, in his latest batch of "exp proposals" asked to change the citizen message to "Please don't impeach me. I love you guys. 4 XP proposals/day!!!" I say it is a bit underhanded to try and bribe congressmen with additional experience in order to keep your office. It is the job of congress to represent the people of this nation and their interests, and ignoring such to grow fat on additional experience is the closest this game gets to political corruption without diving into the national pocket.

Some would say "Sugawara was elected by the majority of voters. The people's will is for him to be da prez!" Unfortunately, this is not true on two counts. 1: Sugawara did not receive the majority of votes, only a plurality. Had the votes of the third, fourth, and fifth candidates gone to Danyeo AS THEIR AVATARS DEMANDED, Danyeo would have easily won. On top of this, questionable voting numbers, detected multifarms, and predictable track records for those who supported Sugawara suggest a strong amount of electoral foul play.

Add all this together, and it becomes clear that it is Congress's responsibility to protect the will and interests of the people with this impeachment. I have asked before for opinions on President Sugawara, and the only opinions presented were entirely negative. That being the case, I have begun a measure to carry out the people's will, and I expect with full confidence that a majority of the representatives of our people will concur. May Dio and the Emperor help us all.
