**War Bonds!

Okay, folks! As we all know, eRussia is spending a great deal of money trying to bring us to our knees. We can keep doing this dance of advancing forward, gaining a few states, going back and losing a few states for as long as eRussia has the money to keep it up. Or we can come together and rid this menace from our land once and for all! If you want to know a way to invest in the war effort and make a little of bit of money for yourself at the same time, then the eUS Government wants YOU to buy eUS War Bonds. Government Transition

Due to real-life reasons, former President Emerick is unable to continue the duties of the presidency and has graciously decided to step down. In order to make the transition of government as seamless as possible, according to eRepublik game mechanics, congress has had to pass a law for Emerick's impeachment to officially end the former President's term and is not a result of political hostilities. In eRepublik, when a President is impeached, the person who takes his/her place is whoever got the next highest number of votes during the presidential elections.

Therefore, our new President (who received the second-highest number of votes in our last election) is now Gaius Julius.

Gaius is a very active player who is on at all hours of the day and has been a key member of Emerick's presidential Cabinet, serving as his Secretary of State. Due to the current wartime situation and how well Emerick's Cabinet has performed during these times, Gauis has decided to keep most of Emerick's Cabinet intact as he moves into the Oval Office. Let's wish Gaius all the wisdom of our past leaders as we welcome him to the presidency.

**Presidential Cabinet

Although our President is the most visible citizen of our nation, questions about the many aspects of our government functions may be answered better by the individuals who are responsible for the various departments and questions may be directed toward them. The new presidential Cabinet under Gaius Julius is as follows:

President
Gaius Julius
The President's job is to oversee the entire executive branch, be the top diplomat, and act as the leader for our noble country. This month, he will be overseeing many programs listed below, as well as continuing to fight our war to this administration's full ability while continuing negotiations with various hostile nations to find a competent solution.

Vice President
Jewitt
The Vice President needs to be a right hand. Jewitt is definitely one of these people. Jewitt is one of the most intelligent players in eRepublik and can be trusted beyond all belief. He's going to be the President's go-to guy and is going to always be there to ask the tough questions.

Sensei
Emerick
Though he is not around much, Emerick will be staying around and dropping in when he can. I can't imagine eRepublik without him so why not have him in the Cabinet?

Grand Vizier
Publius
Publius has been an integral part of eUSA for a while now. As a senator, his economic expertise was often key in many proposals, and he has been a top adviser to every president since Uncle Sam's second term. During Uncle Sam's second term, he held the negotiations with eMexico that led to the peace treaty that President scrabman signed early in his first term.

Viziers
Cromstar
Cromstar has been a trusted adviser in eRepublik; whether in a political or governmental realm he knows his stuff. As Speaker of the House for several months he is very experienced at handling the various government functions.

Killing Time
Killing Time is one of the most intelligent and experienced eUS citizens. He has served a number of roles, from CIA director to an admin on our national forums.

George Barker
Called the master of game mechanics, Mr. Barker knows every trick and is often found commentating on the eUS forums. He knows what he is talking about.

Chief of Staff
PigInZen
The Chief of Staff's job is to maintain order. PigInZen helps create a daily agenda for the Cabinet every day. His job is to get his nose in everything and report back to the President about whether people are doing their jobs.

Wade has been involved with the State Department for 3+ months. He is amazing at handling the ambassador program and has dozens of international contacts. He'll be filling in the interim to make sure we keep up our diplomatic presence.

Canni
Canni is a dedicated member of the eUS Army who is adept with intelligence matters. As head of the Department, he'll be organizing intelligence matters and cracking the whip on intel guys.

Citizen Task Force
Serendipitous
Serendipitous has recently been heading up the task force which does check-ups on citizenship applications. He has done an awesome job making sure PEACE spies don't get in and hopefully this will continue.

DEPARTMENT OF DEFENSE

Josh Frost
A charismatic man who is often described as a womanizer, Frost has been an important figure in the military for months. Though a bit of a rogue, he built the Air Force, our former anti-take over squad, from the ground up. The man is a drunk, a fiend, and a heavy smoker. He is the perfect face for the military.

Cerb
Cerb has been handling the Flying Unicorn Squad for almost a month now and he has proved beyond adept at this.

**Joint Chiefs of Staff
The Joint Chiefs of Staff are comprised of the general of each branch of our military. They meet on a daily basis to discuss war plans and tactics. You can see the fruits of their labor in the daily civilian orders, issued by the Official DoD Paper.

** We are pleased to announce that Gen. Eugene Harlot has decided to come out of retirement and take up his previously held position of Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff!

In order of strength requirement for their branch, the leaders of our military divisions are:

SirEkim has been an important part of the DoI for a while now, having headed Meals on Wheels, M*A*S*H, and Citizen Affairs until last month. He also created the Pony Express. This month, he's working on recruitment again, revamping Pony Express, and helping with the expansion of the Mentor Program. He is also a Golden Horseshoe laureate.

Tormod
Tormod is one of the workhorses of the past administrations, as head of Citizens' Affairs, he'll be responsible for making sure domestic policy stays in line. He'll also be providing the President with crucial information on our citizens.

With a robust resume and experience already handling citizen affairs, always eager to help Jasper.

Woxan has served in congress and has been an important member of the presidential Cabinet and now serves as our Economic Council Director along with some of the wisest economic minds in eRepublik.

Battle Results

We currently have 36 states plus the District of Columbia in eUS posession. The Russian attack on Wisconsin was stopped by eUSA, but Tennessee and South Dakota have fallen into Russian hands. We were able to secure Kansas from the attack by eColombia.

The Russian attack on Missouri has also been secured by eUSA.

To end hostilities toward eUSA, ePortugal has started a resistance war in Maryland which is now closed, giving this last formerly Portuguese-occupied state back to eUSA.

In Europe, our ally eCroatia was able to secure Northwest Croatia from attack by eHungary. Also, our ally eGreece was able to secure the Aegean Islands from attack by eTurkey.

War Update

With the initiative still on eRussia's side, Russia has returned to the offensive and has attacked Wyoming, Nebraska, Mississippi and Alabama.

In the continuation of attempts to distract our citizens' attention away from the battles with eRussia, their ally eColombia has re-launched an attack on our high-grain state of Kansas after they lost it earlier.

A resistance war has been started against in the Hungarian-occupied Canadian province of Saskatchewan.

In Europe, Serbia has launched an attack on our ally eCroatia's Slavonia region.

Due to the rapidly changing nature of the battles in the war going on at this time, all military personnel are to follow this protocol when deciding where to fight:

Military Only
1. Direct orders given by your CO via PM ECHOs (only orders issued by your chain of command are acceptable). These are the most specific and relate to the particular military unit or platoon you serve in.

2. If no direct orders are given, then follow orders in the military forums according to the specific branch of the military you serve under (Home Guard, Army, Marines, MI, etc).

3. If updated orders are not posted, then military personnel are to follow orders posted in the joint military orders section, which is for the military in general and is not specific to individual branches.

4. If updated joint military orders are not posted, then military personnel will follow Civilian Orders.

Civilian Orders
Civilians (citizens not enrolled in the military hierarchy) should subscribe to, vote up and follow the Department of Defense Battle Orders which are updated daily and sometimes multiple times per day.

Trap Companies

Citizens are advised to beware of "trap" companies, which are companies that post wages much higher than the actual wage, tricking people into joining. If you are looking for a new job, do some research about the company first instead of automatically picking the highest wage. When you join one of these "trap" companies, you may be unable to work because of the lack of funds or raw materials. You can quit these companies right away, but many people, especially our newest citizens, may become discouraged. There is more to a company than the wage that is posted.

eUS Training Division

Join the eUS military and learn more about how to play eRepublik at the same time! If you are not currently part of the eUS Military and you want to learn and do more to defend North America, then consider joining the military by enlisting in the eUnited States Training Division (TD). Once you’ve graduated the TD, you should have enough knowledge to go in almost any direction you want in eRepublik. If you want to further your military career, you can move on to the Home Guard or other military divisions. Make your mark on the eWorld and enlist in the eUnited States Training Division today, the best eRepublik training program in the world!

The war has led to a large number of applications to the TD, so you may not get an immediate response because so many people are applying at once. Citizens are asked to remain patient for assignment to a platoon leader as soon as logistically possible.

These battle orders will be updated several times a day for citizens who are not in the military. Military personnel, however, are to continue to follow the orders issued on the forum and through your chain of command.
