[NAZ4VP] Become the Media

Day 1,833, 11:26 Published in USA USA by Azazel Romanov

As you know, I have been Secretary of Media for the past month, and less reported, I’ve also been Captain of the 9th regiment in Easy Company and the Ambassador to Indonesia for the State Department. During this month I have been charged with the reporting of Administration activities, highlighting those who work and fight for our government, and providing links to forms, applications, and articles that were important or worth reading. I think I can call the Media Department a success this month, but I didn’t do it alone. The Media Department was successful because of all the people who contributed to writing, and all the people who appeared on eNPR to talk about current issues and topics. The progress we made this month would have been impossible without the coordinated work of all those part in Media.

And I think the same is true for any government department. However, this isn’t always apparent because these departments are not as public and out front. You can immediately see the work of Media posted several times each week, and you know exactly what we’ve been doing, but I think that is an unfair advantage for us. I know it isn’t always visible what the government does, and I know you always want answers, progress, and accomplishment. While I’d like to give credit to the WHPR team for everything, many miss the point that we are merely reporting on the activities of others. The true heroes of this administration are not just the reporters, but the actors.

As Media Secretary, I have seen the work of the other departments, and it is truly praiseworthy. I try to make sure that their work is presented the same way I see it, but the Media Team can only do so much in a given segment or edition of the WHPR or eNPR. So many people devote time and energy to running this country and its affairs, and half or most of the time their work goes unnoticed or behind closed doors. I cannot promise you unlimited access to our cabinet officials or every bit of information that we discuss, but I can do my best to make you see what I see. I see people who dedicate themselves to this country and government every day. I see players who spend hours handing out supplies, players who have to negotiate across the world, players who have to command hundreds of others to ship out and fight in another continent, and players that spend their time simply answering the questions of others.

As a writer, I took the easy road.

Putting pen to paper is not a difficult job, and it is certainly not the most time consuming. This is why I want to write more. I want you all to know the work our government does. The WHPR and eNPR are two routes to do this, but we could always use a third advocate for government. As your Vice President, I will do my best to become the best reporter I can be. I may not be able to help you memorize each and every action of our government, but I will do my best to let you know their work. There is a lot of division in this country, and a lot of anger. I know you want another person telling you what is wrong, but I want you to start looking for someone who will tell you what is right. Anyone can complain, and anyone can be a critic. I don’t want that to be my job. I want to inform, I want to defend. As your Vice President, I will expand what has been started at the Media Department.

I don’t want players uninformed, and I don’t want ignorance and apathy to become the nation’s only value.

Every Vice President has a project, and I want mine to reflect what I do best. I want our government to be more inclusive, just as you want. I want our government to support you, to inform you, and to answer your questions. The Media Department cannot continue to be the only voice for our government. Mixing a bit of Chief of Staff with Media, I want to ensure that you know the goals of our Departments, even if that means I have to tell you myself.

The Media Department will continue to do the great work that they do, but I don’t want them to be alone.

And I will make sure you aren’t left in the dark.
