In my last article I introduced a new position. One that focuses on the in game community. This is part of a larger plan but one that has to start with one person.
DMJohnston recently posted that this needs to be a network of people not just one. I am not surprised that he has come to this conclusion. It is the obvious natural progression of the original Idea. But you need to start with one person before you can build a team to do what I’m trying to accomplish. The job I’ve proposed is extremely large. It will take more than just Walter to do it. My purpose is to have him as the point man finding a team of people who are in game and not in the “meta”.
Along with this new position I plan to send weekly mass messages in game to encourage discussion. I realize that some will say this is only one idea but sit and really think about the magnitude of the idea. The amount of work I’m actually committing to when it comes to getting a new program of this size up and running.
I’m excited about this program and I hope you are too.
Defense/USAF
I was originally going to do a full segment on Defense but the main topic within that is the changes in regards to the USAF. As most of you know by this point the Dictator role is being changed from the USAF to the Civ MU. This is due to recent changes in the Defensive Dictatorship Law. Israel Stevens asked Congress for this change to enable him to assign Obllge as the Commander of the USAF.
I fully supported this change.
This was something I thought about quite a bit over the last few months, and it is not a decision I made lightly. I came to the conclusion that some of the personality traits that bothered me about Oblige were the very things that would help the USAF to become one of the top ranking MU’s in the eUS.
Oblige has the name recognition, which will allow him greater recruiting opportunities, as well as the know how to run the MU. His tenacious personality will drive him to succeed where others have failed. He has the experience to return USAF to their former glory and a detailed vision for future of the USAF.
I believe that if we keep running with partial fixes and semi overhauls, we will never actually fix the USAF. Until you have someone with a vested interest running it, it won’t get the attention it needs to truly succeed.

If his interest is only vested when he cannot, in any way, be held to account...his interest is in himself, not the unit.
While I'm in favour of trying this out, have to keep in mind how easy it is to mess around as a CO. I mean, forget that it's Oblige for a second - anyone given that sort of ownership, any mistake they make will be amplified because you've upped the power. I voted for the change - but we can't ignore the risks here or try to hype it up for elections as a cure-all. If it were this easy, USAF would be a nonissue.
TL😉R- This isn't a topic anyone should be so completely sure about. That's just unwise. Even the proponents of the idea should be pragmatically cautious, regardless of whoever the CO is.

Yes, as you keep pointing out, they are _exactly the same thing_. So I am simply recommending that we follow the Constitution from my favorite off-game site rather than yours.

A "collective solution". Interesting, but too late. Should have thought of that when you were collectively shutting people out. Good luck with your "outreach", but you have to know burned bridges won't be rebuilt oveenight, if ever. It seems more like a ploy to get people to observe and work under an eUS constitution that does nothing for individuals, only the groups that control the govt from top to bottom. Abandon the forums, abandon that feckless constitution, return this country to the people. That will be your key to returning activity and productivity to this game.
