[MR4CP] Community Outreach

PTX - Problem
I want you!
I got one less, one less prob-prob-prob
I want you!
I got one less, one less (listen to me), oh!

As I’ve stated in previous articles I came back to the game and found that I enjoyed being here again as well as in the Meta. For me that is where I find fun, in the conversations I have and the people I’ve gotten to know. Even with the negativity on those boards, the interactions I have found there are what have kept me coming back.

This is not the case for a portion of the community. I have been told that in order to win I need to discount the people in game who are not in the Meta and maybe that’s so, maybe it isn’t, but have we really asked them what they think?

Most of of my thoughts surrounding Citizens Affairs involve actual Citizens that play this game. What we currently have are two different games, eRep and Meta. They have vast differences while they also have some similarities. I don’t need to explain the differences because I believe they are plainly obvious. These two games are also sharply divided and I believe it is time that to change.

Community Outreach

Our DoCA does an amazing job helping the players and giving them activities for fun, but I would like to see a program designed for helping players navigate to the forums. We give them links in our welcome messages but we don’t really go farther than that.

It is my understanding, from the PM’s I have received, that there are a number of people who can not get on the Meta due to issues with emails not being received. There are also a group of people who avoid the Meta like a plague because it is a rather nasty place to be sometimes.

The eUS forums can be very difficult to navigate for the new person. This position will be under CA as a deputy and their job will be to help people who want to be in the meta to get there.

But there is another side to this. Those who don’t wish to be there.

This position will also be tasked with engaging people who don’t want to be in the meta. I wish to find out what you want and what you think without subjecting you to the eUS forums. I want to know how you think our gaming experience can be improved, here, in the actual game. I want you to have a voice in what goes on in your government. The decision as to whether to be involved in what happens needs to be up to you, but you shouldn’t have to be in the Meta to have that voice.

This position will be your voice.

New Position

The position listed above, while under the DoCA as a deputy in the Meta, in game, will be the Community Liaison

Using his paper, and the tools available to him in game, I expect him to start a conversation with you about what your issues are. He will have all of the access he needs in the Meta, as a full cabinet member, to bring your issues to the cabinet.

I have asked a very new member of the game to take this position because I believe it is very important that this be someone who is open to listening to you.

Walter Hartwell White has graciously agreed to take up this thankless job.

I hope you afford him all due respect for being willing to do it.

eNPR

I mentioned in my announcement article that I would be willing to look at the idea of bringing back eNPR. While I’m not sure there is the listenership to do it, I think it deserve to be considered. eNPR was something I enjoyed doing back when I was one of the Co-Hosts. If I find through both the position above and thoughts from the Meta that there is interest in reviving it, then I will.

My next article will focus on my thoughts on Defense.

As always PM me with any suggestions or thoughts you have or if you would like to be on my team.
