PTX - Sing
It doesn't matter if your days are long (Sing!)
It doesn't matter if your night's gone wrong (Sing!)
Just clap your hands and stomp your feet and sing it (Whoa, sing!)
It doesn't matter if he let you go (Sing!)
It doesn't matter if she hurt you so (Sing!)
Get up and dance, just feel that beat and sing it (Whoa, sing!)

Just about a month ago I wrote an article about the changes to our community and the divide I saw between older players and newer players. There is a population of people that play a very different game than us older players did. My next article asked you to tell me your story. I did that for the purpose of wanting to get to know you.

What I noticed, after those were published, was that the divide was even bigger than I had initially realized. I saw a community on the eUS forums that seemed to have no interest in what you had to say. I also saw a community in game that had decided it wasn’t worth it to attempt any kind of conversation with those on the eUS forums. That needs to change before we can ever hope to have any type of Civil discourse.

I believe it isn’t too late to start the process towards healing.

This is why I created the liaison position. My hope is that the liaison position leads to a more permanent network of in game advisers to the CP. This isn’t a complete solution, but it is the beginning. Unless we all start actually talking to each other, the divide will only get worse and we will destroy the game we all enjoy playing.

After the events that transpired with the SFP, it has finally become crystal clear to most that this is a problem that needs to be addressed. Publishing articles isn’t going to fix this. We need to sit and listen to each other for once in order for everyone’s voice to be heard. Hopefully a compromise can be reached that works for everyone.

We must at least start the conversation.

DMJohnston’s recent change of viewpoint is refreshing and it gives me hope that these conversations will be fruitful. It's good to know that win or lose the discussions will happen. That stated, I truly believe that I am the best person to help start those conversations because I have always believed that everyone’s voice matters.

I hope you agree and will vote for me on the 5th so we can begin the healing process

”We need to, in this country, begin again to raise civil discourse to another level. I mean, we shout and scream and yell and get very little accomplished, but you can disagree very much with the next guy and still be friends and acquaintances.”
