[MoPR] Country president elections and more

These days, eRepublik in general and eNorway in particular is not a comfortable place for those who have trouble adjusting to changes and unpredictable events and game hiccups. But for those who are still going strong, there are important things to do and be aware of up ahead.

What happened?
Some people are still wondering what has happened with eNorway over the past month. The most accurate and updated summary can be found in Yan Hoek's recent article Norway.... What the hell happened?!?.

Presidential elections - Wednesday Aug 5 - remember to vote!
Some time ago, I asked the congress to consider other safe presidential candidates for the next term and offered to nominate such a candidate through the FRITT NORGE party. As the candidate nominations were locked today at day change, no other safe alternatives than myself have been proposed. We need every vote we can get for Freke. Further ahead, we will be able to bring politics back into the game - the next month, presidency will be more or less a state of damage control.

Political Take-Over (PTO) threath still present
A good number of PTO multi-account voters in Norway are already banned by the admins, and others are under surveillance. That's why congress member goodguy14 is not so healthy anymore, and probably why Cl4trap is not so happy... But at the moment, it is hard to tell how many active PTO accounts are still out there with Norwegian citizenship and who will participate in the elections, since it doesn't show if people are banned in their profiles.

Current bugs
UK and Russia still have a large number of active Mutual Protection Pacts (MPPs) against Norway. These were activated by Cl4trap when a bug allowed him to be reinstated. No remedy has been offered from the admins yet, and support ticket is still pending. Please step by the forums and sign this appeal to the admins.

Employment and companies
We better prepare to be a one-region country for a while, and one without high raw material resources at that. Everyone is encouraged to aim for manufacturing skills and to establish/revive manufacturing companies located in Svalbard & Jan Mayen so that vacant positions are always available at the job market.

Opportunity to migrate skills again
Good news regarding our situation came yesterday in the eRepublik Insider. Sometime "in the following weeks" there will be an opportunity to change migration of skills/career. This will be a golden opportunity for those who have put all/a lot of their skills into the Harvester career to review the situation. Raw material prices are dropping world wide anyway, due to the changes in the new economic module.

This situation has cost me personally, as well as others a good deal of gold and inconvenience. Still, I regard it as an obstacle rather than a crisis.
