{MoPI} Official Statement on Paki-Indian Conflict Involvement

Day 1,054, 18:29 Published in New Zealand New Zealand by New Zealand Public Information

Good Evening New Zealand.

As you may know, Pakistan has recently begun a military offensive into the nation of India. Pakistani leader Max McFarland 2 extended a warm offer to the soldiers of New Zealand's Special Air Service to join him on his mission. SAS leaders allowed soldiers leave to participate in the conflict today, using only funding provided by Mr. McFarland. No funding was offered or accepted from New Zealand. Soldiers were given an option to not participate, and commanders assured their troops that their choice in participation would not affect their status in the SAS.

Some individuals have suggested that New Zealand's optional involvement in the conflict indicates a level of control or influence on the nation by the United States and other countries either supporting Pakistan or opposing India. This is simply not the case. While it is true that there are a great deal of American e😜ats in New Zealand, our government is making great efforts to remain unattached to any particular nation or alliance group. Interim President Myles Robinson and his government understand that their first and only duty is to the citizens of New Zealand, not foreign powers.
