This is the second article in a series of articles that I committed to producing as PP of MOO. The renaissance of MOO is not a second coming of the old MOO, it is a reclamation project of a great party that got derailed and involves a renovation so that it is relevant once again to the eCan political community.

The focus of today's article is Opportunity #2: Pay it Forward.

Opportunity #2: Pay it Forward...

This is a reference to the film, Pay It Forward. The plot of the film centres around a grade school student's project to improve the world. Each person's task is to "Pay it Forward" three times. The act of "paying it forward" involves a self-less act of significant generosity or assistance with no expectation of compensation. The final part of the act of paying it forward is inviting the recipient of the act to "pay it forward", it is just an invitation, not a commitment or condition of accepting the generosity.

How does this apply to eRep?

Well, the biggest improvements to the game environment occur when one citizen or party or MU or country Pays It Forward.

Gifts of currency or gold from one player to another to expand their supply network. Sponsoring a sixth-party candidate on a party's congress ballot with no strings attached. An MU sponsoring mentorship programs for its new members. A country declaring war against another to great a "distraction front" for one of its allies, or a country setting a DO for an ally in support of reclaiming territory. These things strengthen relationships and increase the enjoyment of the game. The game could use more of this.

There is a huge difference in eRep between the "haves" and the "have-nots". Citizens with abundant wealth and damage capacity, countries with over 10,000 citizens, political parties and military units with hundreds of members. These are the groups that have the largest capacity in this game to "Pay it Forward".



On how MOO will promote this platform...

MOO will look for ways to "Pay it Forward" and will expect the PP to co-ordinate at least one "Pay it Forward" event in each term they serve as PP of MOO.

Today, as PP of MOO, I will fulfill my Pay It Forward obligation for this term by donating $10,000, on behalf of the party, to eCan's treasury to fund an MPP and consolidate eCan's allied support in the reclamation of eCan. eCan has been tight on cash for a while and you can never have enough allied support when facing a titan like eSpain.
