Hello UNL readers,

This is the first of a series of four weekly updates which will be given by the Ministry of Interior and Information this month. Here, you can read what the ministries have done, are busy with now and what they hope to achieve during their government term.

The new government
After being elected, our new Country President (CP) Auggustus has activated the new government (see here). Some ministries have been erased or combined with other ones, in order to improve the communication and efficiency of the cabinet.
The congress vote of confidence at May the 9th passed with 12/17 (70,6😵 votes in favor of the new government, thus accepting and activating it.

The Ministry of Interior and Information
Before I publish the ministry updates of this week, I first would like to state something about the Ministry of Interior and Information. For most of you, this is something new to hear from. Basically, the MoI is a combination of the former Ministry of Home Affairs (MoHA) and the Ministry of Media and Education (MoME). In a combined form of these two ministries, the main task of the MoI will be informing the UNL people. This means that every Wednesday, a government update will be given just like this one. Beside those updates, educational articles will be posted every Friday, under the cloak of: No Friday without education. The “MoI Friday School” will mainly be focused on informing newer members of our society.

Ministry Updates
Note: We can’t offer an update from all ministries. This is not the fault of the ministers; there was not enough time to get an update from all of them. From next week on, every ministry will hopefully be updated.

MoFA Ministry of Foreign Affairs
“The MoFA is now beginning to be more active. I regret that I am not as active as I am since I have a lot of RL issues to deal with which is really sad and I really do not want to get into at this time.
There is still a communication problem in getting the correct PW for the MoFA org so future MoFA articles will be from private newspaper with [MoFA] in the title.
MoFA is an organizational mess, but now we do have a clear google doc to keep track of our ambassadors, which is not many. We are planning to look for a few more ambassadors for key and interesting nations. Nations like Singapore etc will be ignored. We are still doing some other planning and organizational stuff as well.”

MoD Ministry of Defense
“The MoD is running as usual. Last month was pretty busy, because of all the battles going on between EDEN and Phoenix. Not everyone has enlisted for the army yet, and we would like to remind people from the fact that this is still possible to do (click here to do so). We are still busy trying to prepare ourselves for v2, although with limited knowledge it proves to be a hard job.”

MoF Ministry of Finance
“Last week was turbulent, we had an attack on our money market, which resulted in a raise of the NLG value to 0.018.
After some printing and good cooperation with some private members, we finally have our value back to 0.016.
We want to keep the value at this point and in order to do that, we are making a long-term plan, more of this will follow.
The MoF can also proudly say that our gold stock is looking a bit better nowadays, however, we want to warn people that we should keep this as a buffer.
Therefore we are against all useless spending of gold and we hope that, at the end of our term, the NLG has been risen to 100k+ and the gold-stock to 2k+.”

MoE Ministry of Economy
"This renewed ministry has as major goal to improve the cohesion between itself and the departments of State Companies and Raw Materials.
This also gives an improved cohesion with affiliated ministries such as Finance, and helps for general transparency.
In addition to this, we will evaluate all current projects and distribute efforts among them to finish them as soon and good as possible."

Garmr - Minister of Economy

MoRC Ministry of Recruitment and Coaching
“Coaching:
We have started this period with an article that we are looking for new coaches. We are happy to see that three new coaches have applied for this. Also the 'old' coaches have contacted about their activity, and we have now a total of 9 coaches.
Of course, we are still looking for coaches! People can apply here to be a coach.
Another problem was, that our current coaching system was down for a week. Fortunately this is solved and now we can give our coaches instructions on how to use it so we can reach our newborn citizens again!
Recruiting:
We are very busy with the reorganization of this part. Thanks to former ministers in the last periods, a lot is achieved already and a lot of opinions have been given. We are now working on re-activating/updating former plans to make it one well-thought plan, that contains several aspects of recruiting.”

Dit is het eerste artikel uit een reeks van vier wekelijkse updates, die deze maand gegeven zullen worden door het Ministerie van Binnenland en Informatie. Hier kun je lezen wat ministeries gedaan hebben, waar ze op dit moment mee bezig zijn en wat ze hopen te bereiken tijdens hun regeringstermijn.

De nieuwe regering
Nadat hij gekozen was tot Country President (CP), heeft Auggustus de nieuwe regering geactiveerd (klik hier). Sommige ministeries zijn verwijderd of gecombineerd met andere, om de communicatie en de efficiëntie van het kabinet te verbeteren.
Op 9 mei stemde een meerderheid van 12/17 stemmen (70,6😵 in een motie van vertrouwen in het voordeel van de nieuwe regering, die daardoor geaccepteerd en geactiveerd werd.

Het Ministerie van Binnenland en Informatie
Voor ik de ministerie-updates van deze week publiceer, wil ik eerst iets zeggen over het Ministerie van Binnenland en Informatie. Voor de meesten van jullie klinkt dit nieuw in de oren. In feite is het MoI (Ministry of Interior and Information in het Engels) een combinatie van het voormalige Ministerie van Binnelandse Zaken (Ministry of Home Affairs – MoHA) en het Ministerie van Media en Educatie (Ministry of Media and Education – MoME). In een gecombineerde vorm van deze twee ministeries zal de belangrijkste taak van het MoI inhouden de inwoners van de UNL (United Netherlands/Verenigde Nederlanden) te informeren. Dit betekent dat er elke woensdag een regeringsupdate gegeven zal worden zoals deze. Naast die updates zullen elke vrijdag educatieve artikels worden gepubliceerd, onder het mom van No Friday without education. De “MoI Friday School” zal er voornamelijk op gericht zijn nieuwere leden van onze samenleving te informeren over eRepublik zelf en het land waarin ze leven.

Ministerie-updates
NB: Niet van alle ministeries kann een update gegeven worden. Dit is niet de schuld van de ministers; er was helaas niet genoeg tijd om een update van hen allemaal te krijgen. Vanaf volgende week zal elk ministerie hopelijk geüpdatet worden.

MoFA Ministry of Foreign Affairs/Ministerie van Buitenlandse Zaken
“Het MoFA begint nu actiever te worden. Ik betreur het dat ik niet zo actief ben als normaal, doordat ik met veel RL-zaken (RL: Real life) te maken heb, wat erg jammer is en ik wil me daar nu niet te veel mee bezig houden.
Er is nog steeds een communicatieprobleem bij het verkrijgen van de correcte wachtwoorden voor het MoFA-account, dus toekomstige MoFA-artikelen zullen zijn van een particuliere krant waarvan de titel begint met [MoFA].
Het MoFA is een organisatorische puinhoop, maar nu hebben we een duidelijk googledoc om onze ambassadeurs in de gaten te houden, wat er niet veel zijn. We zijn van plan naar meer ambassadeurs op zoek te gaan voor belangrijke en interessante landen. Naties als Signapore zullen daarbij genegeerd worden. Daarbij zijn we nog steeds bezig met enkele andere organisatorische dingen.”

MoD Ministry of Defense/Ministerie van Defensie
“Het MoD is als altijd. De laatste maand was vrij druk, vanwege alle gevechten tussen EDEN en Phoenix. Niet iedereen heeft zich verder aangemeld voor het leger, en we willen mensen er graag aan herinneren dat het nog steeds mogelijk is om dat te doen (klik hier daarvoor). We proberen onszelf nog steeds zoveel mogelijk voor te bereiden op v2, hoewel dat met de beperkte kennis daarvan die we hebben een lastige taak is.”

MoF Ministry of Finance/Ministerie van Financiën
“Vorige week was pittig. We kregen een aanval op onze monetaire markt te verduren, die erin resulteerde dat de NLG-waarde steeg naar 0.018. Na goede samenwerking met enkele spelers en het bijdrukken van geld, hebben we de waarde uiteindelijk teruggekregen naar 0.016.
We willen de muntwaarde op dit punt laten en om dat te bereiken, zijn we een langetermijnplan aan het maken. Daarover zal meer volgen.
Het MoF kan verder met trots zeggen dat onze goudvoorraad er beter uitziet de laatste tijd. We willen mensen er echter voor waarschuwen dat we dat zo moeten laten als buffer. Daarom zijn we tegen alle verspilling van goud en we hopen dat de hoeveelheid NLG tot boven 100.000 is gestegen en de goudvoorraad tot boven de 2.000 aan het eind van deze regeringstermijn.”

MoE Ministry of Economy/Ministerie van Economische Zaken
“Dit vernieuwde ministerie heeft zich een hoog doel gestel😛 de cohesie tussen zichzelf en de departementen van Staatsbedrijven en Grondstoffen te verbeteren. Dat zal ook verbeterde samenhang teweegbrengen met opgenomen ministeries als Financiën, en zal gunstig zijn voor de algemene transparantie.
Als toevoeging zullen we alle huidige projecten evalueren en daarmee het juiste doen om ze zo snel en goed mogelijk af te ronden.”

MoRC Ministry of Recruitment and Coaching/Ministerie van Rekrutering en Coaching
“Coaching:
Deze periode hebben we geopend met een artikel, waarin we op zoek zijn naar nieuwe coaches. We zijn blij om te zien dat drie nieuwe coaches zich hiervoor hebben aangemeld. Ook is met de “oude” coaches gesproken over hun activiteit en nu hebben we een totaal van negen coaches tot onze beschikking.
Natuurlijk zijn we nog steeds op zoek naar nieuwe coaches! Mensen kunnen zich daar hier voor aanmelden.
Een ander probleem was, dat ons huidige coachingssysteem er een week uitlag. Gelukkig is dat opgelost en nu kunnen we onze coaches instructies geven over het gebruik van dat systeem, zodat we onze nieuwe inwoners weer kunnen bereiken!
Rekrutering:
We zijn momenteel erg druk met het reorganiseren van dit gedeelte. Dankzij eerdere ministers in de laatste termijnen is al een hoop bereikt en zijn veel meningen gegeven. We zijn nu bezig met het reactiveren en updaten van de vorige plannen om er uiteindelijk een weldoordacht plan van te maken, dat verschillende aspecten van het rekruteren inhoudt.”
