[MoHA] Guide to.... Gold & the Monetary Market!

Day 1,937, 05:59 Published in United Kingdom United Kingdom by eUK Home Office

Hey there everyone, it’s me LongShotzZ and…

it’s that time again for another ‘guide to‘ article, this time we are going to focus on Gold. This guide will cover everything from spending your Gold wisely to ways not to spend your Gold and of course, when is the best time to invest in the Monetary Market?

Let me start by stating the various ways you can obtain Gold within eRepublik:

Medal rewards
Donations from other players
Buying Gold by spending real money
And of course via the exchange of your country currency, GBP, at the Monetary Market

Now I’m going to explain how to spend your Gold wisely…

Like all new players usually do please don’t blow all of your Gold on energy bars and first aid kits, they may seem tempting and you might be yearning for your first Battle Hero medal but in the long run the Gold you start with could be crucial to your progression within eRepublik. The most efficient and therefore the wisest way to spend your Gold is on upgrading your training grounds so that you can earn Super Soldier medals faster, Super Soldier medals yield a 5 Gold reward each time and the higher quality your training ground, the faster you earn them. For those of you who are uncertain about this then here are a few figures to back up this idea:

Quality 1 Training Grounds yield a mere monthly income of 3 Gold due to it taking 50 days to receive a Super Soldier medal.
Quality 2 Training Grounds yield a respectable income of 6 Gold per month whilst taking a more modest 25 days to receive a Super Soldier medal.
Quality 3 Training Grounds yield an even more enticing 9 Gold per month and Super Soldier medals take only 17 days to receive.
However….when you reach Quality 4 Training Grounds that monthly income has quadrupled since the Quality 1 Training Grounds to 12 Gold which means you earn a Super Soldier medal every 13 days.

These upgrades may cost a lot of money but there is a side benefit….as you increase your training ground quality then you gain more strength per day, this also helps you to attain higher damage levels and gives you a better chance at getting a Battle Hero medal which rewards you with 2 Gold. All of this is on top of your monthly income.

Now that I’ve gone over how to spend your Gold it’s time to tell you how not to spend it…

As I have already explained, energy bars and first aid kits may seem tempting but they are not beneficial to your war efforts in the slightest. When you begin your eRepublik life there will always be somebody who will snipe your Battle Hero medal from you, but do not worry! For if you lurk in the shadows you can store up your bazookas and then go for a Battle Hero medal with success.

Another way not to spend your Gold initially is on companies, if you are determined to become an economical player then you are better off storing your Gold for your initial 2-3 months of eRepublik life only spending it in order to upgrade your training grounds. This will allow you to build your Gold stash up faster and in turn earn more money to then fund into your economic game style. Overall though the amount of Gold you spend and what you spend it on is completely dependent on what type of gaming style you wish to adopt.

Finally, here’s some detailed information on when to convert your GBP into Gold and vice-versa using the Monetary Market…

GBP can be easily converted into Gold at the Monetary Market, however, there is a daily cap on Gold receivables (excluding medal rewards) of 10 Gold per day, this includes via donations or transferral on the Monetary Market. The best time to exchange your Gold for GBP is when you gain the highest amount of GBP per Gold you sell, this should be obvious to anybody. The current market puts 1 Gold at the price of around 250-280 depending upon whether you are buying GBP/selling Gold or buying Gold/selling GBP. In the recent months the market has peaked at around 300-320 and so far it seems to be stabilising at 250-280. Resist the urge to buy Gold for as long as you can because the market can soon rise/fall in the blink of an eye and you always want to get the most for your money.

Hopefully this has explained the various uses of Gold and given new players a little to think about before they go and blow all of their Gold on useless energy bars and first aid kits.
