[MoHA] Guide to... Finances (Basic)
eUK Home Office
First up, I'd like to give a special thanks to Betafoxtrot for creating the new art below!
This is the first of a two part series on finances.
1. Basic Finances Guide - Aimed at instructing new players to have both sustainable finances and have fun playing their play styles.
2. Advances Finances Guide - Instructing more advanced players how to better manage their finances.
Background
After speaking with various new players and much research, it's been possible to come up with just how much each new player starts out with. We'll be doing this based on different playstyles - Military and Economic. Media and Political have little to do with finances.
Your Starting Finances: 500CC + 1 Gold per level
So, how do you spend this to become a sustainable player?
Saving
For the first two days, you should save your gold and CC. Buy a few weapons to keep you entertained, avoid spending gold on training, and on day three, turn all of the gold in to CC. This shouldleave you with about 7,000GBP. On top of your job earnings, your starting money and products you manufacture, you can top this off to about 7,600GBP. Below is the recommended way to get this started out.
Solid Investment
So you have around 7,600GBP, what now?
Iron Mines are possibly the greatest investment available to a new player. With that 7,600, you can buy 5 iron mines. At base production rates in the eUK, this would be your following daily income:
Job: 20GBP
140 Q1 Foo
😛11.20GBP
280 WRM: 16.80GBP
Minus 10% tax: ~45GBP per day
This 45GBP is a great start to your finances, every 8 days you'll earn 1 gold, every month you can invest in a new iron mine, increasing the rate at which you make money.
You can also buy enough tanks to do a decent amount of damage every other day if you're a military player, or top up on supplies you receive from your military unit.
If you work in a commune, you're likely receiving supplies in lieu of pay, in which case you're gearing more towards a military style, and still making about 25.5GBP per day.
Levelling Up & Trophies
If you play the military module most, chances are you're likely going to geta couple of Battle Hero trophies before level 30. This will give you anywhere between 4 and 6 gold, which is enough to buy an extra iron mine.
You'll also receive around 2 super soldier trophies and 3-4 hard worker trophies in this time, amounting to about 25 gold. Again, this will buy you a lot more iron mines, increasing your self suffenciency greatly and giving you a lot of financial freedom. You can then begin to focus on doing as much damage in battle as possible, or looking to expand in to things such as higher Q companies.
Important Notes
-Remember that in the early stages, self-sufficiency is key.
-Try to avoid going for battle hero trophies unless you can do so without damaging your income. Low level BH trohpies are worth a lot less than division 3 trophies.
-Only pay for training in the early phases if you're a gold buyer. This will severely impact your income, and isn't really worth it without Q4 training grounds. Use the free training for now.
-Advice on where to spend money can always be obtained by messaging either me (Current MoHA), or Carlini8. (the current Minister of Finance)

If any new players are low on money to make these investments, send me a message and I can help you out!
nice work
>Iron mines
...
Can't even do maths?
They give more experience than using 2 of the 3,000GBP one, they're profitable and produce 56 WRM per day.
Plus, free iron mines are given to new players in missions.
great article
good advice for new players

good article.
nicely done
Nice article - thank you for the info!
There is just one thing that puzzles me: Since the Oil Rig costs and produces the same as two Iron Mines, wouldn't it be better to buy one Oil Rig so you can save 10 HP?
I think young players should really consider that, aseptically those who play the military module, because when you work in 2-3 Iron Mines that isn't quite so important, but if you gather 10 or more of them, then the Health Points start to matter..
Or am I wrong?

Hi Sweet,
You're right!
But I calculated (and most probably wrongly) that new players might want to gain maximum experience points, thus bringing those 1 gold level up rewards faster. After talking with Carlini and ACroc on IRC earlier though, we concluded that in some cases it might be best to level up as slowly as possible - it all depends on the type of player you are at the end of the day.
Brilliant guide.
New players might also be interested in knowing that I am awesome
That is all
