[MoFA] Urgent: Regarding the Belfast Question
Frixios of the Clyde
Dear all,
Last night it was noted that support for a Resistance War in Northern Ireland was close to starting a war. This was noted by members of the eUK Government and in the eIrish government. There had been a plan to discuss the future of Northern Ireland in this current congress. However, the RW was triggered prior to the start of the new term, and no such discussion had taken place. So over the course of the night, two more people supported the RW and there is now a battle for Belfast. However, this move was NOT supported by the eUK government (I know I ended up hitting for the eUK in this battle but that was due not understanding the full extent of the treaty/believing it had already been broken).
There had been attempts to communicate with the Irish government prior to the start of the RW but with little or no success.
However, due to the belief amongst Ireland and it's ally South Africa that Bushmill agreement has been breached, we face a proposal of the eUK as South Africa's Natural Enemy. This means we should expect retaliation for our supposed breach of the NAP. I aim to ensure this does not happen, however other avenues to prevent war are being sought.
Many thanks,
Frixios of the Clyde
MoFA of the eUK

"They" - who do you refer to?

Well firstly, if you had read the article, you would understand this was a minority, did not gave government support either!
We in the UK have always had a few idiots who think that eNI is sacred UK territory. This is despite The NW being occupied indefinitely by Bulgaria and they don't care about that. I think Alpha's analysis is basically correct. This was not my view. I want a peaceful relationship with our Irish friends and the eUK should stick to its treaty obligations. The unauthorised RW caused many of our MUs including the RAF to auto select NI as the default war to fight in ... I changed that when I got up late and later on I sued some of my pathetic fighting strength to fight for Ireland. Hopefully Ireland will win the RW!
NI is holy ground to us.
What about the North West? Or are you being a hypocrite?
- There is 40.000+ players in this game and it only takes 10 of them to ruin a treaty. "So many people, so many minds"
So, the government broke the treaty?

Ireland won relatively easily - https://www.erepublik.com/en/military/battlefield/347486
No one from UK Government fought in the resitence - the CH for UK was Appleby who did only 450mil and that was in just 1 round. Who started the RW? How do we know it wasn't saboteurs or Irish?
Ireland won relatively easily despite not putting big efforts in themselves - if there's an agreement between 2 sides why is it the UK's sole responsibility to correct a war they may not have started?
Speculation - is this just an excuse by Ireland, or some within Ireland to start a war?

Can you actually post this screen is? The source must be reliable if they were the last supporter
members of eUK fought for the Irish side. The MUs automatically picked the NI war as default. I changed the RAF's when I got up (late)

If Ire are genuinely interested in negotiating with Parliament can we see the screenie?
If I had not been paying attention I might well have fought on the wrong side as my MU automatically selected the NI war... I changed the orders.. perhaps too late for some people.
We have some loons on our side who are determined to cause trouble and you are right Alpha they do not have the strength or the support from others to support their idiocy. Hopefully calmer heads will prevail.

"UK is in a bit of a state at the moment" - to be fair that's been a regular occurrence over the years. Personally when i was involved we always considered Ireland friends who occasionally had their differences and common sense should mean both sides can put this latest episode behind them.

Again, would be nice to see the screenie so we know other than Harambe who started it
@Paul " if there's an agreement between 2 sides why is it the UK's sole responsibility to correct a war they may not have started?"
Two likely scenarios:
1) Ireland view the treaty as being one imposed by them upon us wherein we're the supplicants who hold all responsibility for anyone, including Ireland's, attempts to break it.
2) Because they're fishing for a reason to start a war while pretending they're the aggrieved party.

>to see the screenie
where's the screenie?
I can back up Keith here, the RAF military unit's orders were set to NI and I inadvertently fought against the agreement. I hope that we can put peace back on track but I fear this will not possible in our current leaderless state.
With that in mind, I would propose an extension of the cease fire and waiting until after the 5th for a clear direction from the new CP.
