[MoFA] March, or How Did We End Up In the UK & Belgium

Day 3,051, 22:11 Published in Netherlands Netherlands by Ministerie van Buitenlandse Za

Dear Readers,
In light of recent events happening to the eNetherlands and her allies I thought it would be wise to publicize an extensive MoFA report for this month. An area that is sadly beyond the grasp of many people and only a few are up-to date with. That's no wonder, keeping up with the continuous drama and plotting in the eWorld can be tiring, consuming and depressing. That sounds actually way more exciting than it is. Nevertheless, I'd like to take this opportunity to lay down some of the events that happened in the past few weeks - ones that especially affect the eNetherlands.

Most importantly, we've seen our alliance Orion (Netherlands, France, Peru, Canada, Lithuania, Iran) being awesomely active and ass-kicking this month. Which is honestly a surprise, but a very welcoming one, after former member Sweden left Orion for (i.e.) inactivity and joined Pacifica (USA, Russia etc.) instead.

The United Kingdom, or: Londen is Dutch!
The United Kingdom has always been a thorn in the side of our alliance Orion. Being allied with the likes of Croatia and Chile, they're a haven of enemies in Europe. France recently has stretched its muscles and is looming on the resources on the British Isles. They have taken over the UK completely before, but were forced out when Chile invaded France last month.

After peace returned in the area, France has decided to embark on a new British adventure and called upon the aid of Orion. Lithuania (which with its bases in Ireland was itself threatened by the UK), The Netherlands and former Orion member Sweden decided to join in on this operation and in matter of days the entirety of the the United Kingdom was once again subjugated with ease. Ever since, there have been some failed attempts of resistance, the government of the United Kingdom has been in disarray over dissatisfaction with their CP and only time will tell if wiser heads prevail across the Channel and enter talks with the victorious coalition. As for the Netherlands: We have no wish to see even our worst enemy permanently wiped off the map, but will nevertheless aid our allies for the coming days and weeks.

Belgium, or: How did we even end up in Flanders?!
Belgium is like the younger brother of the eNetherlands. We like to hate them and throw trash at 'em, but in the end we love 'em kinda. The eNetherlands and eBelgium have a rich, shared history. Once being an unified nation, the relationship between the 2 nations has seen many interesting events - ranging from drunk Dutch CPs invading Belgium, banned mutual ambassadors, but also occasional cooperation for the better of both the eNetherlands and eBelgium.

For the past few months Belgium has been wiped of the map by Montenegro - after years of other wipes and invasions. The nation is sadly at the point of just vanishing as a viable entity - being in a fierce ''civil war'' between two political sides that is slowly but surely decimating the population. While the slow death of any nation is sad, it also creates potentially lethal problems for us. One political side in Belgium (which can be compared to be ''rebels'' to the native-Belgian ''establishment'' side) is actively threatening to take over the place with foreign aid - most notably the likes of Chile and the Chilean Black Panther II. We've already seen this faction trying to cause trouble in the area by fighting Montenegro in the goal to create an enemy base directly bordering us.

Therefore, we recently decided to intervene ourselves. After Montenegro was almost removed from Belgium the instability of the region was looming and we couldn't let that happen. But we didn't enter as enemies: The Belgian natives have firmly requested our invasion to ensure Belgium is ''off the map'' which makes any take-overs by the enemy rebels impossible. And that's how we ended up in Flanders, and why it happened so sneakily - almost unnoticed. In the coming days we'll be discussing the matters with both Belgium and Montenegro about the future of the area.

In Other News:

- Turkey is on the map again! After being pummelled by our allies like Serbia and Iran extensive peace treaties and NAPs have been signed in the Middle-East between the likes of Bulgaria, Iran, Turkey, Georgia and others, while Serbia has been removed from Turkey by a Visa-loaded Cyprus. With peace returning in that specific area, it is likely we will soon see major campaigns opening up in other parts of the world.

- Canada, our fellow Orion member, has been on a roll this month. After liberating our friends in Cuba from Switzerland (aided by a now banned Bulgarian guy - who helped out Switzerland with his thievery) they have rolled into Mexico.

- ''The Persian Plunder'' has thrown eRepublik into a show of drama. The CP of the eUSA recently took over an ORG that landed in the hands of the Iranian MU ''Black Academi'', took all its contents (3 million CC) and paraded the theft proudly in the media. Obviously, this deed has created severe backlash for the Americans, but also puts nations like us in a delicate situation - as the USA and Iran share many allies. We obviously disapprove of this action and hope cooler heads will prevail - but at this point that's very unlikely to happen and more heavier measures might be taken by the likes of Iran.

- The Croats have launched a new project, the alliance Adriatica. For the meantime Croatia is the only member and it remains to be seen if it ever amounts to something, but it could potentially be an able opponent for Asteria. While the Dutch are not exactly great fans of Croatia - after their failed AS on us last year - we nevertheless wish them luck in their endeavour.

That's all y'all

Regards,
