[MoFA]Ireland's new alignment

Day 727, 11:02 Published in Ireland Ireland by Irish Foreign Ministry
Recently it has been passed through the dail to change neutrality status of eIreland. I proposed this as i felt "neutrality" didn't describe us best. The proposal was to change it from "Neutral" to "Independent" as i felt "Independent" more accurately describes us and gives us more freedom. Quite a few people said there was no difference between "Neutral and "Indendent" but i beg to differ, here are the definitions of both of them:

Definition of Neutral : "not taking part or giving assistance in a dispute or war between others."

Definition of Independent : "not influenced or controlled by others in matters of opinion, conduct, etc ; thinking or acting for oneself"

It has been said "Your not truly neutral if your fighting in wars," and "Hey thats not neutral if your giving assistance to such a nation!" These are correct statements, We are not Neutral, we are independent we get involved in wars defending the self determination of nations and pull out when they turn imperielistic.

- We will fight for the self determination of countries regardless of alliance on a case to case basis,

- We will not be influenced by Alliances,

- We will not be ordered around,

- We will not fight if we do not want to,

THIS IS IRELAND!!!!

So what about current relations?

All our current relations will be unaffected, were still the same Ireland but with a different view of our future. We are changing our alignment so we can keep up to date with the ever changing eWorld. We want to continue to build comradeship with more nations in eRepublik so feel free to contact the Ministry with any questions or queries.
