[MoFA] Interview with eUSA!

Day 1,795, 06:17 Published in United Kingdom United Kingdom by Jimbojoy

Hello there, this month in the MoFA we’ve decided to sit down with notable forigs and get their answers on the red hot issues you need to know about!

This article will feature input from our American Associates across the pond.

The eUSA are at a fairly critical juncture in their relations with other countries throughout the eWorld. Most notably they have been heavily leaning in new directions with a move into CTRL and cutting away old ties. However this is a complex maneuver, requiring many concessions on both sides. Who can tell if this will emerge as the newest world power alliance? The US have also been struggling recently with internal disputes, as their policy of allowing allies members to enter the country has been taken advantage of by many different groups of varying nationalities.

After successfully planting the US presidency in safe hands, the government looks to consolidate their position and secure the country back. I’m today talking to Dr Luis Sentieiro, the eUS Secretary of State.

How successful has the government been in dealing with the PTO situation in the US? What do you think could happen in this months congress elections?

Well, there are plans to deal with the AFA threat but it’s all behind the scenes. As for the congressionals, it may happen AFA still gets a decent percentage of our congress but we’re looking for ATO means to it.

How is your wider economy doing?

Well, as you know, USA doesn’t have full bonuses right now as a way to make the PTOs go away, it was a measure taken by the previous administrations and highly contested by the American people, but in my instance, I do believe the US Government is doing all efforts to keep this away. As for the world economy, well... erepublik administrators keep having some quite greedy promotions. Things in eEconomy aren’t what they used to be.

Have you heard about the recent theft of orgs in eIreland, and what knock-on effects do you think it will cause? Do you still consider them close allies?

I only heard about that very briefly, my department in USA is experiencing some staff problems in the Ambassadorial Affairs, I had to replace its director so we could actually get moving on hiring more ambassadors, so the lack of staff makes me have less reports on hand and less information. Anyway, the theft of orgs isn’t something new, they attempted the same in USA, it always has consequences in organization and when it comes to financial orgs, to money which is even more serious... I can’t think of the consequences if for example the Congressional Budget Office org (USA official congressional bank to which we congressman donate) was stolen and got lost of our controll. As for the relations between USA-Ireland, yes they are our allies even thought USA is now part of CTRL despite of all those storms with Poland.

Do you feel that the next tranche of alliances will finally have moved to 3 blocks, or are we doomed to polarisation?

Well, this is actually an interesting question, If we look briefly around, we have 3 alliances: CoT, EDEN and CTRL. CoT and EDEN have their blocks settled, meanwhile CTRL, although with great potential, still has a lot of work to be done internally. Right now, in the current geopolitical situation, we are kinda in polarisation, but in the way I see it, it’s not a complete polarisation. I think we are in a transition stage and the next steps in the next months of diplomacy will be vital for the future of CTRL and the future of the eWorld. I’ve heard rumours about EDEN dieing, very honestly, I’d rather to keep EDEN alive, it makes things interesting and the world.. with time will be multipolar. We also have Asgard and ABC but those are small blocks and won’t make a large scale difference on the eWorld. We also have the old ONE countries, but from those we already know what to expect.

What has been your favourite moment in eRepublik?

I have too many favourite moments to be honest. Still one of my favorites was probably assisting the creation of CTRL. I was the one who wrote the charter and edited it until all countries would agree to sign it. I also enjoyed the first time I got to be in the USA Government, I started in August as Secretary of Education (or Minister of Education if you prefer) and I managed to improve the department, I loved the job. Then the next administration presented me the challenge to do Foreign Affairs, as my previous president would say: A trial by fire. I don’t think I did bad since here I am doing my 2nd term. Another favorite moments I have is when I talk to the eNPR blogtalk radio, I love to talk there, I usually have so much fun, I can thank my president and my vice-president for that.

Do you listen to any eRepublik podcasts, and would you consider doing so?

I participate in the eNPR blogtalk radio of President Pfeiffer. I love those shows, highly entertaining.

Favourite Ale or Cider?

I love Cider. 🙂

Bourbon, Malt or Scotch?

I love Malt, but I gotta say the Famous Grouse Scotch is also very tasty.

Who is your favourite eUK president or all time?

Talon Karrde who is the actual President. I never actually talked to him, just heard of, since I’m not familiar with the others, I pick him. 🙂

It's been great talking to you, thanks for taking the time and I hope we get the chance again soon, cheers for the interview!
