[MoFA] Interview with eIreland!

Day 1,798, 12:54 Published in United Kingdom United Kingdom by Jimbojoy
Hello there, this month in the MoFA we’ve decided to sit down with notable forigs and get their answers on the red hot issues you need to know about!

This article will feature input from our Irish cousins across the way.

So we’re coming to the end of our sparing and region swaps, and we want to clear the air about untrue rumours spread by a very small minority of players. The eUK and Ireland are both committed to honouring their sides of the deal. For those unaware, a region swap was in place which saw the Irish gain Northern Ireland and Scotland (providing a +20% food bonus), and the eUK take Louth and a linking region (again to provide the same bonus.) UK congress have narrowly voted to return all the Irish regions and reclaim our own, as the in-game NE mission is now at an end. The eUK is (in the words of our PM Talon Karrde), looking to “extend to them the hand of friendship once again” as “close relations between us can only be a good thing, and despite congress deciding the region swap is no longer the way to go I’d just like to reaffirm our commitment to improving relations and developing a lasting friendship.”

Because of this we’d like to get together and have a chit-chat with some of Ireland’s government, so without further ado, I give to you Biker2446 and Rikian1776!

What do you think about getting all your home regions back? Is this more important to Ireland than having a meaningless 20% food bonus?

R: I appreciate getting our home regions back, but it was about more than the 20% food bonus. We are landlocked between two nations we are friendly toward now. Not only that, but we cannot acquire true patriot medals while fighting resistance wars anymore. Going back to our natural regions really puts both of our countries in a sad predicament.

B: Home regions are more important for news players so I think we have to keep them.

How is your wider economy doing?

R: The economy is staggering along. Like most countries, we could be better. Businesses could be better, but overall we are alright.

How have you coped with the recent theft of orgs in the country, and what knock-on effects do you think it will cause?

B: There are liars and cheats in erepublik and I learnt that Argentina had the same problem so it's not a surprise.

R: The country has had a difficult time with the Org thefts. It has been particularly difficult on new players since they haven't been able to received their supplies. sawc, the person responsible should be banned from the game.

Do you feel that the next tranche of alliances will finally moved to 3 blocks, or are we doomed to polarisation?

R: The alliance question is a good one. It is hard to tell right now. We will just have to wait it out and see, I think.

B: It's a possibility but in erepublik there are always surprises so the time will tell.

What has been your favourite moment in eRepublik?

R: I would say becoming the Quartermaster and Commander of eIrish BootCamp. I really love helping new players.

B: When Rikian chose me to be MoFA. It's my first important job in erepublik.

Do you listen to any eRepublik podcasts, and would you consider doing so?

B: I don't listen to them. (Jimbo here recommends searching eNPR or “Bob Save the King!”)

Your text to link here...HERE HERE HERE

R: I don't currently listen to any, but I would.

Favourite Ale or Cider? Bourbon, Malt or Scotch?

B: Coke 😛 (Lightweight!)

R: I would have to say, Drambuie for alcoholic drinks.

Who is your favourite eUK president or all time?

R: You know, I haven't played the game for a very long time, but I would have to say that my favorite UK president is the one that helped us get NI and Scotland because they cared for their country and Ireland.

B: Joker 🙂 ( None! :’( )

It's been great talking to you two and I hope we get the chance again soon, thanks for the interview!
