Greetings, dear Lithuanians!

Let me introduce the event of this day - Day of Belarus in Lithuania!

Well, there is no reason to post a _Big_wall_of_text regarding the history of Belarus. We have a common part of it and we live not so far from each other, but nevertheless, few words about history of our state.

Belarus begins its historical statehood from Kyivan Rus. The first separate Belarusian political formation was Polotsk principality. Later in the lands of modern Belarus, Ukraine and Lithuania there was a state - the Grand Duchy of Lithuania, which in 1569 joined the Polish Lithuanian Commonwealth.

After long wars, Russia, Austria and Prussia conquered Polish-Lithuanian Commonweath.Russians tried to destroy belarusan culture and assimilate us. Belarusians joined many uprising agaisnt russian opression, along with poles, lithuanians and ukrainians - former citizens of once greates country at Europe.

After the collapse of the Russian Empire on the lands of Belarus Belarusian People's Republic had been established, which lasted only 9 months.

On 18th March 1921 Belarus was divided between Poland and the USSR. Belarus in the USSR existed under the name of the Soviet Socialist Republic of Belarus (later renamed as Belorussian Soviet Socialist Republic).

July 27, 1990 - the Parliament of BSSR adopted the Declaration of State Sovereignty.

August 28, 1991 - the Parliament of Belarus declared independence from the USSR.

September 19, 1991 - Belorussian Soviet Socialist Republic was renamed into the Republic of Belarus.

March 15, 1994 - the Parliament adopted the Constitution of the Republic of Belarus, whereby it was declared an unitary democratic social legal state. According to the Constitution of the Republic of Belarus is a presidential republic.

The first state symbols of the Republic of Belarus had its origin from the Belarusian People's Republic in 1918. White-red-white flag and emblem "Pagonya." They were replaced after the referendum in 1995, but some Belarusian opposition forces continue to use them.

The traditional Belarusian dress originates from the Kyivan Rus period. Due to the cool climate, clothes were designed to preserve body heat and were usually made from flax or wool. They were decorated with ornate patterns influenced by the neighboring cultures: Poles, Lithuanians, Latvians, Russians, and other European nations. Each region of Belarus has developed specific design patterns. One ornamental pattern common in early dresses currently decorates the hoist of the Belarusian national flag, adopted in a disputed referendum in 1995.

Belarusian national cuisine characterized by dishes made of potatoes and pork, for example draniki (potato pancakes). We can also recall a steamed turnip, homemade sausage, bacon.

If talking about alcoholic beverages other than vodka we can also highlight a honey tincture Krambabulya and tincture Zubrovka, which is also popular among Poles and is produced at the junction of the two states. Also, it is possible without the beer somewhere else? 😉

Among the people there are popular holidays like "Kaljady" - celebration of the winter solstice, "Kupalle" - celebration of the summer solstice, "Dzjady" and "Radaunica" - funeral days of dead relatives

Popular as well, "the Freedom Day" (March 25, celebrating anniversary of the establishment Belarusian People's Republic) and "Day of Belarusian Military Glory" (September 8, the anniversary of the victory in the Battle of Orsha), but these holidays are not recognized by the authority of Lukashenko.

Today eBelarus is on its way to joining ACT alliance. A refferendum is held, final result will be published so soon. And seems like people vote Yes for joining. :3

There are 9 parties in Belarus, 3 of them are competing for top-5th place. This makes congress elections worth following. The biggest party of Belarus - Nacyjanalny Front - supporters of nationalistic movement in Belarus.

There are 14 MUs in Belarus, top-1 by number of citizens is eGUARDS and top-1 by damage done is Dogs of War (but just with 20kk difference). Husaria Belarus - subdivision of Polish MU Husaria in Belarus.
