[MoF] The Great Big Update!

It’s finally out! Below will be a blow by blow of what the MoF has done since the last update. We will have info on budgets, training contracts, communes, monetary market, loaning orgs, finance sheet cleanup, and the finance team.



Budgets

June 14 we had reasonable expenditures with most of our budget going to MPPs. At the end of the term we ended with a surplus of 12,486cc.

July 14 we invested most of our money into Q7 at my request, totaling 2k Q7 under my account. I now see that this was an error on my part as Q7 prices have actually decreased the past month and a half. The main explanation I can give is that with the introduction of the housing market we saw a huge surge of money being taken out of Q7 and invested into houses. This caused the demand for Q7 to go down and prices to drop since all the money shifted to houses. Our surplus was 3405.63cc with 2k Q7 on reserve.

August 14 we have seen no expenditure. Our surplus/budget is 30466.75cc.



Training Ground Subsidy

Communes

I have requested Dave Brinkman to increase Q7 to 5 per day. I will be frank with you all: Dave Brinkman is very difficult to communicate with. Between both of our busy schedules and a general issue of communication from ingame messages, it has been difficult to coordinate the commune. I have tried every few days to contact him on irc, but I have only gotten a response once and I wasn’t available at that time.

The good news is that Heikanu is now almost stocked up on enough gold to transfer a new Q7 factory to him. When this happens we can double our commune workers and will have at least a 5Q7 a day deal for all workers.



Monetary Market

We have earned 18,530.95cc to date since we started the program. This is roughly the equivalent of 50% of our monthly budget. Total time elapsed is 48 days. Currently the market is poor, so we are not taking any risks, but I expect more profits on the way.

Weekstrom is also still using his citizen program to make citizens money. I would chat with him if you are interested in earning more money. We may end up granting him an extra org to benefit all our citizens.



Loaning Orgs

I have contacted two trusted MU leaders about loaning an org for 25% of their 10 day profits on the MM. Right now I have one of the MU leaders slotted for controlling an org on the 6th. This program is expected to gain us increased revenue with zero risk.

My next program is to start loaning money out to MUs that are also part of our org program with the hopes of making Netherlands more money. Considering out strongest suit is finance, I want to see us become a world bank so to say. This will take a considerable amount of time to process and work out, but I am hopeful.

Finance Sheet Cleanup

I have cleaned up the finance sheet of all unnecessary information and uploaded it to an archive sheet. The sheet was overloaded with too much information and that made it difficult to load and accept new figures. Along with getting rid of old material, I have added many new tabs and organized as I could to make it easier for citizens to review.



The Finance Team

I have added both Walhallah and Fosite to the finance team. Both of them have been an enormous help with Walhallah managing the Gold Donations tab, which finances our communes, and Fosite managing the Accounts tab, which records our money and general finances.

Both of them are very active and dedicated, but most importantly, they are methodical. With my decreased activity and general hectic schedule, they have both been a lifesaver. Without both of them it is quite possible our finances could be in the drain.
