Dear citizens,
It has been an eventful month regarding our finances and therefore I thought it would be wise to publicize a separate report on the Ministry of Finances.
Initial Budget
As reported to Congress at the beginning of the term, the initial budget consisted of:
Tax Income: 31,302
Dictator Tax: 18,570.305
*Donations from July: 36802.84
Total: 86,675.15
* The Donations from July (made by Brazil, Slovenia and several of our own citizens like WillemTheConqueror and Epix) were specifically made to sign MPPs, hence the donations being rolled-over to August.
Cost of War - The Croatian Air Strike
When Croatia decided to attack us it was obviously clear that our initial budget wasn't fit for the task. Congress decided to allow the Government to use a part of the Emergency Fund (120,000NLG, which adds up to the initial budget). Besides the expanses the Government made, several individual initiatives were contributing as well. The fund-crowding by the Ministry of Defence collected around 25,000NLG (including weapons). I (NoTie112) also personally funnelled in 1,200,000 NLG for Combat Orders through the Sacred Band NL Military Unit.
That would conclude to around 1,345,000 NLG being used on the war on Croatia. I have noticed many people don't realize yet how expensive a war really is and how it easily would blow through years of eNL month incomes and how we will need to be prepared to spend such amount again when the situation asks for it. However, luckily only 120,000 NLG (on top of the initial budget) has actually been contributed by the eDutch state, which has kept the expanses relatively low for such an awesome victory in the end.
Rest of the Month - Saving Up?
The rest of the month has been dedicated to stabilizing our situation. Most importantly we've decided to maintain and increase our current MPP stack. We have 11 now, but an increase might be needed in the coming weeks. MPPs are essential to make us less of an easy target for random attacks (like the German attack some months ago) and enemy Air Strikes (like Italy and Croatia in the past weeks). It's paramount to our nation being a viable entity that we keep on riding the same course in this matter.
However, having such a MPP stack is obviously relatively expensive for a small nation like the eNetherlands. I've started an initiative in Congress where individual citizens can apply to fund one MPP in the coming weeks, as to make sure we can maintain the current course without pressuring the eDutch state too much. In the end, we all benefit from such safety measures and it demands absolute solidarity from all of our own citizens to make that happen (as in keeping our nation independent and relevant).
As a last note of importance, eNL citizen Andreas Isaksson started his own crowd-funding. While we're not yet aware of the exact results, we did receive 100,000 NLG from eAustralian citizen Rusty D in the same crowd-funding. Anticipating that the Andreas collected a fair amount of money we can conclude that at the end of the line the eDutch state is running even in expenses and income this month, which is a great result considering the odds we were up against this term.

I collected arround 22k CC, I hope I have time to write an article later this evening or tomorrow...
Nice report, especially as it could create extra awareness which still is needed very much among several players.That hasn't really changed a lot since I was MOF and although happily we do have a higher income again nowadays it's still only a marginal budget that we have. Therefore actions like this can never be funded out of our standard monthly income.
A lot of players will be aware of the fact 1,345,000cc is a hell of a lot of money. But indeed, as NoTie stated already a lot are also unaware of the costs of a war. And this wasn't by far a full scale one yet.
But let me focus on "I (NoTie112) also personally funnelled in 1,200,000 NLG for Combat Orders" for a moment. To put that in perspective and make people somewhat more aware;
1,200,000NLG roughly equals 4,250 Gold. With discount one can buy 450 Gold at €100. To have 4,250 Gold one therefore needs to buy 9,4 gold pack or in other words; Invest €940.
And although I know NoTie gained the money in less expensive ways its still an impressive investment he has made. One only a few eNL players will be able or willing to do. I for one will remember...

Well, buying packs (IK and PP) is a less expensive way to make money, for 10 euros you get about 100k, that is still a lot of money, but I don't think a lot of people is buying the gold packs anymore.
