Day 1,312, 12:21 Published in Belgium Belgium by NBB-BNB

Dear citizens,

As you might have noticed, Helviro hasa resigned and I am the new Minister of Finance in charge (I was missing this job 😛).

I'll speak hereby of two recent changes that happened in eBelgium.

Belgian Army Funding

Debate Link

The funding of the BAF has changed once again (first time since I left my MoF job and it's just to welcome me back, isn't life wonderful?). The net income of the belgian army will be expressed as a percentage of the tax incomes which will have the advantage that it represents the actual income of eBelgium. The funding will be fa higher than it used to be and so the BAF will buy raw materials or finished products which means more supplies for the members of the military.

New Import Taxes

Debate Link

In relation of the BAF funding, the state decided to lower taxes so that the army can buy raw materials from the eBelgian market. The problem is that the Belgian market is too small to support such a big buyers. Then the congress decided to lower the import taxes to 1% for raw materials and 8% for finished goods to attract foreigners. This is a good opportunity for them to earn easy money as the eBelgian market is currently high in gold equivalent price.

Supporting new business

Debate Link

A proposal to help people that would like to begin a new company has been proposed. However, due to the instability of eRepublik, this is currently not a good idea and the proposal has been rejected.

Hospitals in Brussels

Debate Link

Ward de Bever has nicely offered 3 Q1 hospitals to eBelgium. Thanks to him.

Yours faithfully,

Minister of Finances and Vice President,
Jofroi
