[MoE] Upgrade your Training Ground!
Swiss Federal Chancellery
As you probably noticed you can upgrade your Training Grounds for 45% less Gold in the next hours.
We’re now going to explain you why upgrading your Training Facilities is so convenient.
Let’s start from a very basic situation: you just entered the new world, so you probably own only level 1 training buildings.
If you don’t want to spend gold, the only way to increase your strength is using your free training ground, which allows you to gain your 5 daily strength points.
Training is doubtless the best way to earn gold, since every 250 strength points you will be awarded with a Super Soldier achievement and 5 gold.
But now the time for a big leap in quality has come: upgrading.
Let’s see why this is convenient:
Training ground quality - - - - Q1 Q2 Q3 Q4 |
Daily strength gain - - - - 5 10 15 20 |
Days to Super Soldier Achievement 50 25 17 13 |
Let’s now look at the costs:
Training ground quality - - - - Q1 to Q2 Q2 to Q3 Q3 to Q4 |
Normal upgrade cost - - - - 20 50 100 |
Discount period cost 11 27,5 55 |
The advantage is quite obvious: you will need almost 2 SS Achievements to have your investment repaid, but in the meantime your daily strength gain will be doubled.
Remember: more strength means more influence, more influence means easier Battle Hero achievements (and related gold).
This is our hint: first of all focus on your Training ground (free facility): your main goal should be upgrading it (completely at a discounted price) to level 4.
Only at that point you could shift your focus to Climbing Center (the one costing 0,19 gold per training).
Both the first and the second training facilities will always keep your balance sheet POSITIVE, so you will never spend more gold than the amount you earn with SS achievements.
The difference is all in the monthly income. Let’s look at this simple table:
Training facilities - - - - - - - - Free Q1 Free Q2 Free Q3 Free Q4 Free Q4 + 0,19 Q1 Free Q4 + 0,19 Q2 Free Q4 + 0,19 Q3 Free Q4 + 0,19 Q4 |
Monthly strength gain - - - - 150 300 450 600 675 750 825 900 |
Monthly gold income 3 6 9 12 7,8 9,3 10,8 12,3 |
Note: daily task strength bonus was not considered.
For a more detailed and complex analysis you can look at this useful tool. Try all the training combinations and decide which one fits with your desires.

Focus: What is a Battle Hero (BH)?
Battle Hero is an award given to a citizen for achieving the highest amount of damage in any battle. – eRepublik Wiki
BH is the only achievement based on Battle Divisions.
Battle divisions is the way eRepublik groups players, according to their experience level.
1-24 lv players belong to I Div, 25-29 to II one, 30-36 to III one. Starting lv 37, players enter IV division, which is currently the highest one.
This distinction should allow also low-level players to achieve a BH medal, because they will never face players whose influence in battle is way higher.
How to get prepared to win a BH medal?
First of all, you have to be prepared to put some important dam
age (which is not the regular one you make for your daily order). Players with a low value of influence should try catching a BH using their
First preparatory step, then, is to stockpile some bazookas (I would suggest at least 30 bazookas).
Second step is to stockpile some health energy bars.
Remember: no BH can be won using just your available health, you surely will need to use some bars.
Third step: choosing a battle. This step is fundamental: in some battles putting 200k damage could be enough to be the BH, in others you could lose with 400k.
Hot battles are never the best choice, so avoid all “Campaign of the Day” wars, because probably a lot of damage will be required there.
Let’s now imagine we made all the previous steps. We’re approaching the battlefield with enough bazookas and bars, we found a battle where the BH values are quite regular (around 300k is an acceptable amount of damage to put for a BH medal).
At the beginning of the new round, we should let other players know we’re trying to catch the BH (this will prevent us from having too many competitors). To do so, let’s put some damage at the very beginning of the round (around 120k could be a good choice).
Next thing we need to do is watch how the situation evolves: as we see a player putting some relevant damage, we should pay attention and if he gets too close to us, we should fight a little more (let’s say we reach 180k damage).
One of the biggest dangers when trying to catch a BH are BH-Hunters. Those are players who spend their time seeking for BH medals and try to put a huge amount of damage at the end of the round, when the current BH leader could be distracted or relaxed.
Usually this kind of players don’t care about winning or losing the battle, so they will put damage also if the battle is manifestly won or lost.
If you did everything properly, at the end of the round you will be notified (through a pop-up message) that you won a BH achievement.
Remember: Every battle (usually called round), ends when one of the two countries reaches 1800 domination points or after 2 hours (in this case, the country with the highest domination score is the winner).

How to become a tanker
Tank is the name people use to refer to those players who can inflict a huge amount of damage.
There are some strategies a new player should follow to become a potential tank:
1. Do not fight too much. Military rank is important, but the most relevant part in determining your final influence is played by strength, not by military rank. Focus on increasing your strength.
The cons of fighting too much are be a rapid level increase, with the obvious consequence of moving to the upper division faster.
Remember: a higher division means stronger player and harder BH (even if the prize in gold is higher, it won’t pay the increased difficulty in winning a BH achievement).
2. Always try to fight with high quality weapons: you will earn the same xp points but you will inflict more damage and receive more military rank points.
3. Once more: always try to enter III Division with a high amount of strength. You can still correct your mistakes in II Division, from III Division on you will start suffering because of them. It’s better to fight more rarely then to enter IV Division with 20k strength points.
We hope you will find this guide useful. Should you have any questions, any suggestions, complaints an so on, please feel free to express here in the comments or contacting the Minister of Education

It's all cool, But I need like 65 gold to upgrade to max q2 training ground. So this time - no way it's gonna happen for me, maybe next Sell out. 🙂
Anyway great article.. people need to know this. 🙂
Great article and thanks for linking the tool.
Unfortunately, the only way to earn gold in this game is through training.
If you aren't greedy with the train button, you can make a pretty good return just upgrading that free center with the gold you earn from training. If you have a few extra bucks in your wallet, the war chest is a great way to get enough gold to upgrade to Q3 free where you can earn 10G and 500Str every month in the blink of an eye. A few months down the road and you can upgrade that Free to Q4 where you are getting your SS almost 3 times a month.
Factor in the monthly (or so) missions and the free str for doing your daily chores and you can have a healthy portfolio within a few months.
Course - if you're greedy (like me) you waste your gold on the special forces training center.
Are those ones my columns?
Yes 😃
Sadly I had to substitute Catullus with numbers.
>:d
this is so important if you want to make progress in this game.
Plus they offer 90% reduced costs for training each day. This 90% costs about 40 or 50 gold (i don't remember) but it saves you 1/2 of the cost of training in the long run.
but
it's only worthwhile if you have all your training grounds at level 4.
Very detailed article and spot on. I must admit I did not read every single word however. 🙂 I will post the short version. This is the exact same thing I explain to anyone that Pickle's are training, new player or old.
_____
The upgrade of the free Weights Room is the first and most important use of any gold the game gives you. It does not matter the time for return of your gold. If you plan on playing eRep the Weights Room must be at Q4 for the gold that it makes and the strength it provides. The second most important use of your gold is to upgrade the 0.19 Climbing Center. DO NOT use the Climbing Center until it has achieved Q4 status, that would actually reduce gold income. When Climbing Center becomes Q4 then use every time to gain a bit more gold but also to provide even more strength.
I consider it important once the first two Training Grounds are at Q4 to spend gold on upgrading the one food factory to Q3 and buy one Q5 FRM Hunting Lodge. Dissolve all other companies at this time. This will provide most food needed to fight with the Q7 weapons provided by MoD when following orders. (See MoD article for explanation.)
BH provides many gold during Division 1 & 2. Do not waste this gold! Upgrade the single Food factory to Q5 (no more than Q5, higher food is wasteful) and buy one additional Q5 FRM Hunting Lodge. Then you make all the food you need. It is a choice then to start building one single Weapons factory with Q5 WRM Rubber Plantation or to upgrade the two expensive Training Grounds. Do not use Shooting Range or Special Forces Center until at Q4. It is most important to spend the gold to upgrade them rather than to use them at a lower Q.
very useful guide, thanks alot for the advices, cool!
also:
i had 11 gold bars, but i bought a aluminum factory to get mofre weapon metareials (so that i can sell more weapons...)
what should i do?
should i mainly upgrade my free training grounds? (i upgraded it to LVL2 a few months ago, but now it needs 27 gold bars to get it on LVL3)
also: should i ever upgrade my food factory/weapons factory?
Your Free Training Ground is more important because the government gives you tanks (and soon food), so upgrade your TG 🙂
As I said, do the first two TG's. These are most important. The Weights Room (free one) is most important as it supplies free gold faster. The Climbing Center (cost 0.19 gold) is next most important as it provides the most strength without costing any gold to use.
Anything else can be an option but those are MUST HAVE.
thanks for the good advices, alexander and dillpickl, you guys rock!
(ps. if you ahve more tips for me, please tell them)
