The Introduction

Hello people of eSwitzerland! I am you new Minister of Education Dan/naD Wilshire. I will be your teacher and you guide this month to ensure that you gain a better understanding of the game and the society around you. Today’s article, as it is the my first will cover some basics of the game. Each article after this will go into more detail on specific areas of the game.

An Introduction to eRepublik

eRepublik is now what it appears to be. On the outside it is a friendly world where everyone is happy, but in reality we are all angry!

Don’t worry I am only joking! 99% of eRepublik players keep playing the game because of the friends that they have made over their time playing the game. This has help build strong communities around the world and makes eRepublik one of the most interesting games on the web.

Engaging the Community

There are two main ways that the people on this game communicate, that is via Mibbit/Rizon (online chat rooms) and online forums.

Switzerland’s online forum can be found here: http://forum.ehelvetia.ch/index.php

Please sign up and introduce yourself to the many active players in eSwitzerland! We are all ready and waiting to meet you!

However the bulk of friendships are forged on the irc. You can gain accss here:

For direct access click this link: http://tinyurl.com/7gxjv5e

However you can also get on by:

Website: https://cbe004.chat.mibbit.com/ (there are other ways to get onto the chat)
Server: Rizon
Channel: #eSwitzerland (eSwitzerlands official channel)
Nick: Please use your ingame nick when you go onto the forum! It helps us identify you as a player!

If you join the social side of eRepublik you will meet a variety of people who will be happy to help answer any questions you may have. We are always looking to make new friends!

Understanding the moduels

There are four main modules; the social, economic, war and political modules. I have just covered the social module so now I will briefly explain the others.

Economic Module – Full story Issue 3

This module is where you make money so you can afford to buy food and weapons to support yourself in the war module. You can get a job in any local company, or move abroad and work for a higher wage in another country while still keeping Swiss Citizenship (CS). Along with this as your wealth grows you will be able to purchase and run companies to boost your wealth further.

War Module – Full Story Issue 4

This module is where you battle hand to hand (or weapon to weapon) against your opponents. Each time you hit the fight button you will consume 10 health, so ensure that you have food and the capacity to refill your health bar. The war mode is where different countries fight against each other with their allies to conquer land. If a home region of a country is taken, for 10,000cc (10x 1,000cc payments) the oppressed country can start a resistance war (RW) to free the region. Wars are fought around the eWorld 24/7 so understand that you need to Fight Daily.

Political Module – Full Story Issue 5

The political module is tightly tied to the media module (which isn’t a major module) and the social module (player invented module). In this module you can run a party (Party President), become part of the government (as a congress member) or take control of a county as a Country President. Along with this player made roles such as minister have been created. These roles are not decided by game mechanics however they were created as part of the extensive player made social aspect to the game.

Concluding the modules

This is just a basic summary of the modules and the different aspects of the game subscribe to this paper to read the follow up articles better explaining how each one works.
