The IDF attack of Iceland

This is an attempt at slight satire along with creative writing

Nithraldur checked his watch, The Na Fianna was on perfect timing as usual. There wasn't really a need to look but it turned into a bit of a habit for Nith along with going "commando" (pantless) in the field, which he said "is essential" being an elite commando unit of the IDF. He gazed towards his squad, seeing familar faces, the battle hardened Patton who was prone cradling his AWM sniper rifle so carefully as if it was "a princess.". The gaze then shifted to Yddub Emwolb the groups new prodigy who was crouching near Navy II, the huge battle hardened soldier, and Nogin. A few would find it odd to see a woman in the group but she was more than a pretty face. As with the warrior maidens of Ireland "few questioned their places in the Army, but those who did never lived to divulge the answer," the wrath of Nogin and Grainne is something any man would want after them. This battle hardened group of soldiers seemed indifferent to the harsh surroundings of Iceland in the freezing cold weather.

They were ready to do anything in the name of Ireland.


Meanwhile...

Niall H sat drinking tea and potato cakes in the secret IDF HQ along with Edana Savage and Sean Power. The success in the Icelandic invasion was dependant on the Na Fianna successfully infilitrating the the Naval Air Station Keflavik and knocking Iceland's main military base out of action. They had full faith in the Na Fianna, these warriors descended from the ancient Gaelic warriors renowned for their courage, strength and determination. Niall H was holding the long distance radio between the three of them very carefully as it was their only means of contact with the Na Fianna. Just as Niall H bit into his last bite of potato cake he heard the codeword come in.
"Viking OVER" in Nithraldurs commanding voice,
Sean took the radio, looked at Edana who nodded and commenced the operation with the codeword.
"Pillage and burn, pillage and burn OUT"

The radio was put on the table and the three of them had shared a big grin.


Nithraldur heard the codeword and smiled. Then handed his AUG to Semprini and motioned to his 2IC Pdiddy to ready the troops to move stealthily to naval base. Nithraldur took out binoculars and seeing the lone Icelandic guard on the gate whispere😛
"Range 82 metres, wind 2 degrees west, fire at will." to Patton.
Patton breathed in and a silenced AWM round was loosed. The round took the guard cleanly in the neck and he crumpled to the ground. Nithraldur nodded towards Pdiddy and took his AUG off Semprini. They would leave the cover of the rocks and commence the capture of the base, all in a days work for the Na Fianna...
