Has the meaning of the word "neutral" changed or what Colt? By doing nothing you are neutral, the meaning of the word hasn't changed from what I know 🙂

By looking at Swedens quantity you see that they got the benefit, but then again, check all the MPP😒 that Germany got, around 20-30 times the amount of population Sweden has. Also Sweden own territories that aren't protected with MPP😒. So both countries got their benefits... 😉

Either you're going to honor your agreements or you're not. Despite the complexity of the issue this announcement sends a bad message about your credibility. Both to your own people and abroad.

The eUK official stance on this is actually to help Germany if they're attacked, it's already changed once so I'm surprised if it's changed again.

To be honest if you are in a region with a good hospital I would suggest you fight to gain wellness,you have nothing to lose if you gain 40 wellness from a war but obviously check your hospital level before you fight.

Fight if your wellness is low. Isn't the government in favour of wellness through war?

Hate to say it, but the MoD can toss off. The UK shouldn't sit back and do nothing while our ally gets annhilated.

So why did we sign MPP if we don't intend to defend Germany? To waste their Gold?

Sign a MPP, state an official declaration pledging full support in the defense of Germany, and then negate it all. Listen to your citizens and be strong in what you stand for, continue to fight with us.

Just to clear up the reasoning behind this:

Defending Germany puts us at risk of being expelled from Atlantis (where our position is already very weak)

We currently have an open war with Sweden, Sweden borders us. If we are expelled from Atlantis they are free to attack us. They do considerably more damage us.

Congress should have been advised by the PM or MoFA that renewing the MPP with Germany was a very bad idea. I don't know if this was done or if congress ignored them.

This decision isn't about right or wrong its about self presevation.

Even understanding the reasons to remain neutral, if we don't honour our own pacts then they will be worthless for other countries. Our signature should be supported by our actions.

As has been said, we should not have signed the MPP.
Both countries are allies, Sweden despite there actions are one of our longest and most important allies. We offically fight for Germany and we risk a year or so of good relations with Sweden and a potential war on our own regions with them. A war we would not win. The Germany - Sweden situation is not clear cut. This is a result of ill feeling between both countries that goes back to beta times.
It isn't an easy situation to be in, one that has been made harder by what looks like an uniformed act by by an inexperienced HoC.

No one can stop any citizen from fighting though it looks like the MoD will not be sending any offical help to Germany.

The reasoning for remaining neutral is well explained, however that directly contradicts the promises our PM expressed publically Saturday across the media of at least four countries.

Those articles have suspiciously vanished, as has the comment of the German Foreign Minister which popped up above.

This is shameful in the first order, and I'm afraid to say reflects very very poorly on our PM who's now demonstrated lack of awareness in the buildup to the disasterous wargames as a minister, and now has made a string of very prominent promises to our allies which she has privately reneged on.

Just to clarify there was no adivce given on this to congress members. The thing is if you want to complain about congress decision, thats fine, or you could step up and put some experience back into it. Bear in mind that every single person in that congress that your saying is un-experienced was once doing their first term as I am.
The supply for the guard I know is 1 weapon per soldier, fat lot that would do anyway, I have supplied my squad alot of the time with weapons i have bought, so the MoD sending troops is pretty worthless anyway, with 1 Q1 weapon each we aren't going to jack shit.
Germany didn't break the alliance, Sweden did, just because of our fantastic relationship we have been having since god knows when does that mean we should support an agressor? Proportionatley Germany are out matched ATLANTIS should step up and sort it.

The trial membership ended.
No action was taken to accept them into the alliance.
No action to decline them entering the alliance was needed.


Germany is NOT a part of the Atlantis Alliance.
Germany WERE a trial member.

@Vaclav - you do know that being neutral is not doing anything? If you say "fight if you want" you are to a proportion neutral but not really that much, but with don't fight you are neutral.

It's a shame Germany was not given full membership. They've been loyal during their trial run and now they're having their backs turned on them for being so. Sweden needs to put it's personal expansionism behind them and do what's right for the alliance.

On a side note, as an eAmerican congressman, I have voted no on a recent peace proposal with Sweden. Until they end these hostilities, I would urge that other elected officials in ATLANTIS do the same.

I encourage every eUK citizen to get some balls and weapons off the rack and fight for Germany. Heck we paid for the MPP, we deserve a fight. I mean, you can listen to the MoD and not fight, or you can fight, gain EXP and army ranks. Your choice.

This is awful. I can't believe how dishonourable and shameful the government is being. I will fight for Germany; I will fight to defend our allies. If the government is too cowardly, then I urge the citizenry to take it upon themselves to do the right thing.

If we have an MPP with an allied nation and they are attacked then we intervene and help out. There is no debate.

I believe the majority of the eUK population that pay attention to politics and/or our forums, are fighting on behalf of the Germans anyway. I for one am. I've expressed my opinion on the issue heavily on our forums, and I'm glad people are turning a blind eye to this order.
