Dear Danes, dear allies,

a few days have passed since the United Kingdom and Slovakia have declared war upon our union.
What has happened in the meantime?


After it turned out we're at war with the United Kingdom and Slovakia, we decided to isolate most of our regions by starting an RW in Midtjylland. This prevented the United Kingdom, after conquering Nordjylland, to intrude into our main regions.
Unfortunately we were already facing the congress elections shortly afterwards. Two regions, however, would have doubled the number of congressional seats in Denmark. Let's have a look at the game mechanics:

To cite the eRep wiki:
A country will have a congress election if they have at least a region on every month on 23rd 02:00 and 25th 00:00 and 26th 06:00.
If a country looses regions between 23rd 02:00 and 26th 06:00, the number of congress seats will not be modified.

We had two Danish regions, Hovedstaden and Midtjylland, on July 23rd 02:00 eRepublik time. So basically Denmark had to make a choice: Either we take the risk of a PTO or we deny a Danish congress this month.

So, what's the status quo?
The Danish state is mechanically not on the map, due to aforementioned congress elections. However, since the United Kingdom recently launched an air strike on Indonesia, they are pretty busy right now.
This gives us an unique opportunity: The Resistance War in Nordjylland - initially started by Indonesia in order to drain British damage - allows us to get back the remaining soil of our union that is still under occupation.

What's up besides that?
Two more things, one concerning Denmark, the other one concerning eRepublik in general.
1. pho3nix wrote an article: Denmark: worth the fight?
He responds to the current situation in Denmark and shows us his point of view. However, it is not his personal opinion about a political thing, it is about Denmark. It is about you. It's definitely worth a read.
2. eRepublik introduced a new feature: Combat Orders. Basically this features allows MUs to buy damage from either their own members or from anyone fighting in a certain battle and for a certain side. At this point it's not sure whether or not and to what extent the Danish government is going to use that feature. However, we'll keep you in the loop. Stay tuned. 🙂
