[MoD]Russian-Norwegian Renting Deal

Fellow Norwegians,

most of you will have heard about it by now: Russia and Norway agreed to a renting deal. Norway is going to rent three of its core regions to Russia.




Norway´s Regions:

Norway has a total of 6 core regions, but only has three different resources:

2x in Svalbard & Nord-Norge

2x in Østlandet & Sørlandet

2x in Vestlandet & Trøndelag





The Content of the Deal:

So we have 3 regions we do not have any advantage of as we already have the resource bonuses in other regions. Russia, however, does NOT have a cattle region.

The deal now is:

- Norway rents three regions to Russia - Nord-Norge, Trønderlang and Østlandet .
- Russia pays the taxes it collects from these regions back to Norway
- Russia pays a rent of 1500cc/week (roughly 6000cc/month)

So we keep Svalbard in the North and Vestlandet and Sørlandet in the South – our country is split into two parts.





Advantages & Disadvantages of the Deal for Norway

Of course the deal has advantages as well as disadvantages.




The disadvantages are:

- We will lose 10% of our food bonus because there will be no direct route from Svlabard to our capital anymore.

- We will only have three regions left – although it is controversial if that actually is a disadvantage.





The advantages are:

- the rent: 1500cc/week – we normally have a tax income of about 15-20.000cc per month, an extra 6000cc is a nice extra amount on top of that.

- Unlike when we are occupied by an enemy nation, we get our taxes back.

- Let´s face it: we are an easy target for basically every other nation in eRepublik. But with the deal our country is split.So even if an enemy attacks us, we have a save haven in Svalbard separated from the rest of the country, which can only be reached by an enemy through Russian territory or via Airstrike, so it is harder to wipe us off the map. (Unless the enemy attacks Russia or wastes an Airstrike for 1 single region)

- The save haven Svalbard is also the reason why this deal saves congress elections for us. Unlike last month, when we were wiped, we will have a congress of 10 at least, even if our two southern regions were occupied.


--> So in short: the deal has financial as well as strategical advantages for us.





How will the deal be arranged?

You have probably seen that Russia already has declared us their Natural Enemy and is attacking us. This is because in order to rent the regions they have to conquer them first. But as an NE can only be taken back after 7 days, they will have to conquer the whole of Norway. After this they are going to help us free the three regions, which are not part of the deal,in RWs.

So please do NOT fight against Russia in this campaign!
