[MoC] Presidential Opinion Poll Results

Day 1,568, 13:24 Published in Ireland Ireland by The Irish Community

Well now that the electoral dust has settled I begin my fourth term as Minister of the Community, and have some topical survey results to share. Thank you to everybody who filled this in, I think this kind of feedback is of great importance, and helps us all to understand the community that little bit better.

I wanted to know what influences peoples voting decisions in elections, and I got some interesting answers.
All values are in percentage points out of 100.

Mixed answers here, but a majority either disagree or don't support parties in the first place. This shows that Irish citizens are likely to use their own judgement and avoid voting along party lines.

Many fans of the written word living in eIreland evidently. We were spoilt this month with two candidates who wrote great articles, and these results show that media talent can give an edge in a tight race.

Very decisive here, no messing around when picking your ministers or the populace will be displeased.

Again very decisive. Irish people clearly want to be kept informed by their leaders.

I asked this because of CP's abroad. Oblige for example is now in his fourth consecutive term in the eUSA. It seems that most eIrish would be happy with that kind of situation, if it ain't broke don't fix it I guess. But a good sized minority would prefer a fresh face in office every once in a while. Food for thought if anyone ever gets really settled into the role.

Utilising the following scale,

5 - It could not possibly have been better
4 - Overall very good, but could have been better
3 - Crushingly average
2 - Bad, just bad
1 - I emigrated to get away from it

Columbia can pat herself on the back, we had a great month and the people (mostly) agree, this kind of endorsement says a lot about how she ran the country.

Utilising the following scale,

5 - They should get off their computers and into RL politics
4 - They did pretty well, a few stupid proposals but no lasting harm
3 - A meh term, glad nothing went awry
2 - Like the real Dáil they argued a lot and did nothing
1 - A group of monkeys trained to accept mpps could replace them.

I am a Dáil member, and was a bit hurt by this stuff, are we that bad? 😛

Finally I asked if anyone had a few words to say, and some did indeed.
If anyone wants to claim there quote feel free.

"Be established before you run and recruit a cabinet of professionals not friends."

and...

"You're not going to sleep much! So delegate as much as you can to the ppl who are capable.
Listen to those with experience/success under their belt.
Don't try to change too much, just about everythings been tried before.
No matter how good u r, there will always be bitching
Terms are short, the game is long. Be willing to sacrifice for the future"

Both are great advice for those thinking of running for CP, from citizens who are speaking from first-hand experience.

I lol'd at; "Nitwit! Blubber! Oddment! Tweak! Thank you."
Kudos if you recognise it.

"More fun"
"Engage with the people better."
"Write a lot of articles, make the game interesting over the next month."
Chew are you reading this? 😛

"Keep it friendly."
We try to,

Minister of the Community,
Tibulus
