Can you tell us something on the meaning of your avatar?
in fact his job was maths teacher. The sport he practiced he only did so as an amateur. Nevertheless he became world champion, the fifth world champion in his sport. He also dominated the sport in the Netherlands, obtaining the Dutch title for all Dutch championships he participated in for a period of over 30 years. He wrote newspaper columns and books about the sport, and many people in the Netherlands still know his name, even though he died over 25 years ago.

I guess I've given enough hints. ?? In any case, it should be obvious that I play the same sport, also as an amateur, and he is one of my personal heroes. I'll never attain his strength, although I'm quite a good player.

My avatar currently is Davos Seaworth of the A Game Of Thrones series. I choose this character because he represents loyalty, common sense and a general goodness of heart.

The Avatar is Oskar Schindler (Liam Neeson), in the film Schindler's List.

My current avatar is a Coral trout- not an actual Salmonid but still tasty. ?? I also have Mean fish and Flying fish avatars; depends how I'm feeling.

It is really simple, as it is a derivate of my real life name (and I was not really that imaginative back in 2010, so today I would pick something more clever and with deeper meaning... if it was not taken, of course).

My avatar is taken from certain anime, and I believe his personality fits quite well with the personality of Janty F in eRepublik (or atleast the personality I aspire to be) - stoic, pragmatic, resourceful, willing to go to great lengths progress towards something good (even if there is a risk involved, which can hurt me), and a bit silly and clumsy (because overall, this is still just a game, and not 24/7-Must-be-100%-perfect simulator). Dutch flag is self-explanatory, and the MU logo belongs to certain Serbian MU whose members (both current and former) helped me a lot during my eRepublik career, and that's how I pay my tribute and respect to them.

needed a name for a roleplaying character 20+ years ago and this was part of that name. it stuck with me ever since.

Can you explain the meaning of your name?
The origin of my name goes way back. Or maybe I should say forth… It is a derivative from the name of a 23rd century brilliant scientist named Daystrom that invented, among others, the duotronic computer. Also the Daystrom Institute, named after him, is a Federation research and development organization. Something like 25-30 years ago I was actively roleplaying. We used the Star Trek world for that and I often played the role of ships engineer. The duotronic computer has been the bases for the computer systems aboard Starfleets ships for several decades. Using the same name as the inventor however did not feel right hence I came up with this derivative and have been using the name ever since for all games I play(ed).

Can you tell us something on the meaning of your avatar?
My avatar originates from the time we still had several MU’s in NL depending on the strength/activity of a player. NL Army and NL Navy were the most common. NL Elite had the most active/strong players although sadly it also consisted of some players that only were member due to having (forum) friends but added almost nothing in the field. Members of the Elite MU received more and better weapons as they were still very expensive due to which other players did have to fight with Q6 weapons. Gov did mainly have Q6 weapon plants. Q7 was still to expensive to buy. NL was really poor back then plus several players in key positions did not want to invest in military stuff as they believed the game needed to be played politically and they only wanted to safe stuff. Not to mention the fact a lot of our treasure vanished due to some very stupid monetary market speculation of our back then MOF that did buy a lot of gold for an average price of 2500cc. As the value of gold dropped hard again after the spike that made him buy gold a lot of NL’s treasure was gone.

I could be member of NL Elite and those used air force avatars where Army and Navy used, well, ground and Navy avatars. So I searched for an air force related picture and came up with one having a clear link to NL as well as it’s from NL’s F16 Demo Team and has the Dutch Lion pictured on the plane as well. Soon after I joined NL Elite I was asked to become commander of NL Navy and switched to an avatar representing the Navy. NL Navy soon became the most active and biggest MU. NL Army had lots of issues between the commander and the soldiers due to which players that were not yet officially able to join NL Navy applied and were allowed to become member as otherwise they would be lost for NL and/or the game. NL Elite in the meantime got diminished due to players leaving NL for higher supplies. When the time came gov decided to create 1 state MU the easiest way to do so was to let Army and Elite join Navy which was renamed Dutch Armed Forces. After that I did find it time to return to my clearly very Dutch avatar…

Wanted a cool sounding name, so I searched for a cool character. Willkam the Conqueror sounded cool, so I went with that, only I "dutchified" it by turning William into Willem.

Can you tell us something on the meaning of your avatar?
William I, king of the Netherlands. Wanted a cool looking portrait as well, and since the portraits of William the Conqueror arwn't particularly cool looking, I went with this William's portrait.
