The Wars of Resistance

What is the difference between an MPP battle and a RW?

An MPP (Mutual Protection Pact) battle involves several countries and their allies. RWs are defined by the following icon:

A RW battle involves an occupying country and a resistance force.

How to start a RW?

To start a RW, the enemy must be in the area where you want to launch an attack.
It is necessary that this region has not suffered an attack in the last 24 hours
It takes 10 people to launch, and each person must pay 1000 country currency to contribute.
If they win the battle, they win 5 Gold.
If the resistance is defeated, they lose their money and can not restart for 7 days.

Table showing the preparation of a RW:

When able to launch the RW it is visible on the homepage of the game.
Do not run a RW anytime! The government must coordinate our forces and those of our allies to give our side the best chance of winning.

To fight:

It is necessary to be in the occupying country.

The importance of RWs...

France holds Deutschschweiz (seen in the center of the map). This is Switzerland’s natural territory. France is warring with Slovenia.

We want to launch a RW in Deutschweiz, to make the region held by the Swiss, and by doing so France closes the border with Slovenia and the war between them ends.
France must warn people to fight on the Swiss side so they’ll win the battle. This type of operation usually works well because the population is already in the country and can fight for the ‘enemy’ country directly.

In fact, starting a RW in enemy countries (eg Swizzera Italiana) requires moving a large number of players into this country, something almost impossible in these cases, and so it becomes much more difficult to ‘win’ the RW.

Postpone the launch of a battle

Keeping the same situation, France wants to delay the time of a Slovenian battle
To enjoy a better timezone or
To be able to focus on another battle (Switzerland is low priority because the battle is not difficult to win)

Launch a RW in Deutschschweiz:
The goal here is still to secure the region the Swiss losing the battle but we want to decide when the battle occurs to take the initative away from the enemy.

We launch our RW to prevent the Slovenians from making their own and getting any benefits that come with doing so.

Slovenia holds Svizzera Italiana and Deutschschweiz in Switzerland

Imagine that France wishes to attack Slovenia. To avoid losing the initiative in Deutschschweiz, it is interesting to note the possibility of launching a war of resistance in Svizzera Italiana.
There are several big advantages to doing this:
Slovenia can not launch a war of resistance in that territory because Deutschschweiz Swiss resistance already exists in their colonies.
It drains Slovenian damage from other battles.
There are generally less people willing to fight to win this war of resistance (on Slovenia’s side).

When we don't have any regions and have to liberate one, this type of resistance war is normal.
